Honda is afraid that the old dog on Bridgestones will outperform their young riders on their factory HRC bikes with Michelins. They shoot themselves in the foot by not letting him sign. He might be a prima donna bitch, but he is fast and very experienced.

It looks as though Max has burnt his bridges as far the Japanese are concerned they do not forgive or forget,, to the Japs it is all about face, read any of Barry Sheene's books he relates to this very well. Perhaps Max could try Speedway or Motocross, or perhaps he could buy his own 250 KTM after all he was World Champion in this class :)

The only person who will choose is Grasini, its his and sponcers money that pay for the x2 bikes, the only reason honda are blocking this is Nakarno has no ride for next year and the japanese want him in moto, i think it will spice things up again as moto is getting dull

Max gets what he deserves.
You don't piss on the hand that feeds you.
I figured he wouldn't be coming back to Honda ever 2 years ago, and looks like that is true. Yes he is a talented racer, but he just has too much baggage to deal with and likes to mouth off about his own team. Reminds me alot of Alonso.
I just think Honda doesn't want to bother with all his crap, don't blame them for wanting young racers instead.
Sorry Max no room for you here, please move along. :)

Love or hate Max, he certainly is a colourful, controversial character, and that is one thing motogp is sorely lacking at the moment - big personalities. It was always quality entertainment watching Maxi boys latest shenanigans and tantrums. Bring him back say - who knows, he might even be quite handy on the 800's. Couldn't Tech 3 get rid of peranial underachiever Edwards - mmm...Rossi and Max both on Yamahas, recipe for disaster but it would be unmissable entertainment both on and off track. C'mon Dorna, sort it if you want to see your ratings increase.

If only Max could rejuvenate his career as quickly as his thatch - toupee or not toupee, that is the question. Motogp should welcome back the Roman Emporer and his new crown...

Poor business acumen by Honda. Max brings viewers something sponsors like, which young lesser known riders will not necessarily do. In 2006 and 2007 other riders have been publicly critical of Honda for the same reasons as Max (tyre chatter, electronics) without being scorned. Max was just the first and most prominent to do so.

Honda's decision is great for the sport. They don't let sponsors decide who the riders are. Nothing wrong with investing in young riders. Max is old news. He may be good for a satellite team that desperately need funds from sponsors, but for a big manufaturer who has the cash, they can decide for themselves. That's how it should always be. Sponsors should never decide who gets a ride. Gotta love Honda for standing by that, because not all manufacturers do.

Totally agree with Elite - who the hell cares about Jose Gonzalez Sangria the latest 250 boy wonder. Do we really want to see a grid full of Pedrosa's. I think not! No offence intended to the Spanish it's just that you seam to be producing most of the 125 and 250 talent. Maybe Lorenzo will prove me wrong - only time will tell.

Informer posted "Honda's decision is great for the sport." If by that you mean having less teams in MotoGP and fewer viewers is a good idea then yes. The most affected party by Honda's decision was the Pons team which as we know has not competed in 2 seasons. So yes BRAVO to you Informer and KUDOS to Honda. Let us now seek other competitive privateers to destroy in this vendetta of the dunces.
