Gina, You are unbelievable.
Pedrosa has never ridden another bike other than the FACTORY HONDA and he hasn't won. Can he not ride any other bike? Rossi is the only one to have swapped and won. But guess what the last 2 years he has not won so even the great Rossi needs the best bike on the grid to win. What is your fantiasy arguement. Grow up and face the facts that Stoner is the fastest rider in MotoGP at the moment. He knows how to win and has the fire in the belly that gives him the drive to win.

MOTOGP » Stoner: We kept getting faster and faster...

The 2007 season may have only finished on Sunday, but MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner shows no signs of throttling off - the Australian having dominated the first post-season test session, at Valencia.

Can't put everything to that TC! What had for example Nicky and Kurtis said earlier about that? Anyway rider have to know and adjust that "limit"!

Where was James Toejam ?

I would have thought he would be testing , but maybe he's that good he doesnt need to ?

It would have been interesting to compare his times with Lorenzo would it not..

Being the great pommy hope that he is..

Cheers..

Yes and casey has adjusted higher than everyone else (which is a fact) All credit to him - he won the championship and I know its all about technology and developing - but it sure has made it boring. Casey is a great rider, and will go down as one of the best - but to me, I think that rider skill should come into racing more, rather than technology - I mean look at Schumi - 5 seconds off the pace on a Duc? Would he have been that fast on one of the other bikes?

Casey won the WC fair and square, he was the best rider this year, but when did he ever have a battle (except for Catalunya) Anytime he was passed, he waited for the straight and powered past - rarely passing on corners.

Be careful what you wish for people. Getting rid of traction control will only aid Casey Stoner and his Aussie mates as most of them came from flat track dirt racing. Flat track dirt racing is all about throttle control and throttle control = traction. Have a look how they perform in the wet, they love the bike sliding around.

Is that why he won most races last year? Oh no, sorry he was sliding through the gravel trap at most of them... I dont dislike Stoner (really) I would like to see him do another season or two with Ducati and move on to see if he can cut it with another manufactuer. I just hate the fact that he is given this God like status after one season - maybe if he wins next year, I will be more convinced that he is "brilliant" but I really would like Melandri to win next year.

Sorry - just observing what I seen on saturday and sunday - you really dont see that stuff when its on television.

Warren Hall, spot on mate.

Its as clear as day! But the Rossi 'Groupies' who know nothing about Racing or Motorcycles will argue otherwise. LOL

djh, seems to me this just means hondas TC is just smoother, also it may mean Hondas TC is too smooth (based on Haydens comments about it).
Casey used to race Pedrosa remmember, hes a dirt tracker, I don't think removal of TC would worry him too much.
He is just riding that Ducati to its limit.

djh - did you ever stop to think that Dani looked smoother because the Honda traction control was working better? Stoner's bike moves around a lot because he is pushing the hell out of it. Watch Sepang again and watch the rear end of his Ducati step out under braking coming into the last bend. The same at Catalunya. He has slaughtered all the other Duc riders all season and I'm sure Marco will find out that the bike isn't so easy to master. This is one reason I think Elias may do quite well on the Duc as well because he likes to let the rear end slide too.

I can't understand why all of you people are thinking it'a all about
the machinery. When you look at all other ducati riders in the race- where have they finish? Why aren't they at the top? They are not good enough? And we are talking about some big names: Capirosi, Baros- why aren't they on top spots if ducati and bridgestone are so almighty?
And yes- stoner did not pass nobody in the twisty bits of the track because ducati is RUBBISH around the corners- but that didn't stop Casey to stay right with them on the twisty bits and make the run on them when the strait comes- if thats not racecraft I don't know what is.
