What was it all the Rossi fanatics said?
Any fool could jump on the Ducati and do what Stoner can.
Well Melandri is no fool. A proven race winner.
Not so easy is it?

MOTOGP » Melandri suffers 'demanding' debut

Any hopes Marco Melandri may have had of being quickly up to new team-mate Casey Stoner's world championship winning pace were stunted by a 'demanding' debut for the Ducati Marlboro team.

I think you do Mick.

These jealous ******* have no idea.

Look even i can admit that Stoner beat me fair and square cause he was the better 'RIDER'.

If he does it again in 2008, when im on Bridgestones as well, then im calling it quits and going to the the WRC.

If C.Stoner beats V.Rossi next year, I think we still need to see What is the reason / statistic? Is that due to Ducati more power/speed than Yamaha? Or other problems like Chatters/vibrations, or VR not finish several times due to problems with the valves? If these problems are the cases, VR needs to move to other factory.

Rossi moving to another factory if Casey does him again??? hmmmm I think if HorHay kicks his butt he will for sure.... more likely If Casey does Val again he will try to push for control engine rules! this time Ducati engines for Yamaha :p

Seriously though the "BIG" test that will silence the clown fans will be if Casey streets Marco again like he has Loris this year...
I reckon Marco will be closer to Casey though in 08. Marco is great under pressure and very good in the wet! should be the battle to watch in 08, Oh of course other than the Val and HorHay show ;)

Why would another factory want Rossi?
For sure he would cost a lot of money and what would they get? If Rossi were to get back to winning ways (less and less likely) then his success would be down to him. If not, he and his fan base would be rubbishing the bike, tyres, electronics, everything other than the real cause. What factory needs that?

Maybe Marco needs a little time to adapt to the bike, we will see
This is not the age of the bowden cable anymore, when you open the throttle
the thing under you 'interprets your wishes' and gives his own view to the rearwheel.
It might be a little disturbing.

Frankly, this "I need to adjust the bike for my style" does not sound too good. This is what Capirossi said ... Rossi was champ because he could adjust his style to bike, I suspect it is pretty much the same with Stoner. Remember Ducati factory comments: Stoner is using very unusual, even weird settings. Looks like he is setting up the bike for best performance and then adjusting his style to ride it. I think it takes lots of creativity and talent, his crown is well deserved.

You had me agreeing with you, then you lost me when you mentioned Rossi. The bloke gets everything he wants. Melandri got naff all off Honda this year.Bayliss did alright on the Desmosedici in the last race of last year so its not the bike.

There are really two scenarios for Melandri: either he finds a way to ride the bike or he struggles like Capirossi.
The machine is fast enough and has all the potential he needs a bike to have,
elementary will be the communication between Maro and his team.

I said before that stoner got lucky this year - the likes of Capirossi don't turn into an also ran over night. And stoner made him look like an also ran.
Rossi has taken a risk chosing the brig stones (as mamola calls them!) but melandri stands to loose more if he can't lay a glove on stoner all year.
