I think Hayden was testing a 16" rear tire and Dani was running the 16.5", which in post race testing Hayden swithced back to the 16.5" and ran .9 faster.

R&D should take place on test tracks not in gp races. Rossi's engine failure is another example of a testing gone bad in a race.

These guys are racers let them race, cut the politics, favoritism, and corporate crap that seems to be driving the sport right now.

MOTOGP » Q&A: Nicky Hayden

After a tough year on track defending his number one plate but without much luck, American Nicky Hayden is determined to take it back in 2008. He has put the new RC212V through its paces and was suitably impressed…..

On the tire thing.... I think the testing now and the switching of the riders reduces the blame on the tires. DePuniet went faster with his Mich than his bridgestones. I know it's only testing but I think it was blown up on hype!

Nicky is a class act. I am proud that he is representing me, as an American, on the MotoGP circuit.
I hope Honda does all it can for Nicky, its obvious that Nicky is going to do all he can for Honda, and all his fans and the fans of MotoGP.

we were talking about track de valenciana.
points in the championship do not necesseraly reflect on capabilities to kick *** ; stoner whenever he couldnt be first in 8 out of 18 races he would " settle " for wherever he was. you know what i mean.
some other riders for example change positions frequently, make mistakes, and are happy when they kick ***. on the other hand..you cant be honestly happy if you're not doing it... hence the robotism. how many times do i have to repeat?

Better to finish, get some points and win the championship :? than ride over your head, crash and lose championship.

Alright, I've had some downtime recently (business trip), so I decided I'd take a stab at trying to examine some of the "theories" that are floating around about this year's championship. Figured this was as good a thread as any to post on, seeing as there's a lot of different ideas present

You don't have to believe my conclusions or that my analysis was valid, but I think it's always interesting to see what the actual data says, versus going from memory

Greg, great read in the blog link you posted. Unfortunately you'll never convince the ignorant majority that there is no wrong way to win a championship....like all the Hayden or Stoner haters. Most points = championship.

can't help it but what i would like to say is, the 2007 honda was a design disaster ... but the new 2008 bike looks like a winner ... so who knows with the full resources of michelin plus hayden and pedrosa might dominate next season ...

Greg, really nice work!!! Even Toby Moddy or Mamola
wouldn't come with such a nice analysis.
