I think Hayden was testing a 16" rear tire and Dani was running the 16.5", which in post race testing Hayden swithced back to the 16.5" and ran .9 faster.

R&D should take place on test tracks not in gp races. Rossi's engine failure is another example of a testing gone bad in a race.

These guys are racers let them race, cut the politics, favoritism, and corporate crap that seems to be driving the sport right now.

and clm, nobody ever wanted to convince anybody anything: the thing about this article is that has no convincing intention - but increases someone's understanding in means of terms and facts;
and whoever wants to understand something better will appreciate it.

I agree with Gina. Dani proved he is the champion, he caught up with Moaner and passed him in the last race of the season and proves he should have been crowned champion. Dani was robbed this year, Moaner should have his championship cancelled, all he could do was go straight to the front and win without having to race for the wins. Moaner gets passed and just settles in for the ride.

Nice work Greg, though there are some flaws
- You can't put anything down to topspeed because what is equally important is traction, reaching top speed is not solely the result of engine power but also the ability to traslate it to the track (that's where the tyres and TC come in)
- topspeed is not always measured on the fastest point on the track, you can actually see it increase after measuring point on mainstraights, just before they brake. I have seen Stoners bike reach 342 km/h at 18900 revs in China
while in in the speedtrap it was clocked at 329.3 km/h (qualifying)
- the fact that Yamaha and Honda made a crap bike this year is hard to put into figures
- same for infuence of electrons

- same goes for the infuence of electronics
-Stoner gained confidence during the season after getting over the 'shock' of winning the first races, this is also impossible to quantify. When a rider is 'on a high' he can do considerably more.

I applaud the fact that you try to rationalize things but there are so many variables that it is virtually impossible.
Besides it will not shut up the fanatic bashers around here :rolleyes:

A theory is that when Stoner was very drunk he had a one night stand with Gina. Then he rejected her and got married to someone else. That's why she is a very bitter, twisted person who has to resort to making ludicrous, unfounded and often insulting comments about Stoner. Get over it psycho - the boy can overtake, didn't you watch Donington? If Rossi every read your comments I'm sure he would be deeply embarressed to know he has fans of such a low mentality like you!!! :rolleyes:
