I think Hayden was testing a 16" rear tire and Dani was running the 16.5", which in post race testing Hayden swithced back to the 16.5" and ran .9 faster.

R&D should take place on test tracks not in gp races. Rossi's engine failure is another example of a testing gone bad in a race.

These guys are racers let them race, cut the politics, favoritism, and corporate crap that seems to be driving the sport right now.

MOTOGP » Q&A: Nicky Hayden

After a tough year on track defending his number one plate but without much luck, American Nicky Hayden is determined to take it back in 2008. He has put the new RC212V through its paces and was suitably impressed…..

Personally I really hope Hayden can get his act together in 08. (good for the sport in U.S.) probably loosing the crown in the manner he has this year will motivate him to give his all and then some next season. If he does not finish higher in the chamipionship next year he will quickely be relegated no doubt. Hoppa is starting to steal the American lime light now and I can see him being Nickys major challenge to compete with in 08.

Gina- RE: "conditional" ??? making up your own rules is pretty funny... "time will show" yes but clown time finished 2 years ago...
RE: "whos my boy" hmmm poor confused girl are you, have forgotten already its only been two years... :?

Gina, get over it, Stoner doesn't love you, he is married and he is
happy were he is. You will not manage to get his attention....
What do you really want of Stoner? It is not his problem that he is so good at starts
and can ride at lap record pace from lap nr. 2, what should he slow down and let some slow dudes to pass him just so he could pass them back??? By the way, Hayden will do well next year as Honda build a bigger bike. A bit strange actually that they do this against Dani, but maybe the like Hayden better than we think?

I really do not understand the mindset of people who decry the achievements of a competitor -a championship winner in any sport.
In the particular case of Stoner, he has shown the attributes of a champion as far back as his 125cc races for KTM.
He has maximised the use of equipment the year. The Ducati and Bridgestone package was underestimated be Honda and Yamaha and Stoner made the most of was he had.
Making the most of what you have is what sporting do people do to win. A serious competitor is not there to make up the numbers he is there to win.
I rememberer Carlos Checa saying throughout his career no matter how bad his qualifing - that he would go and it was his intent to fight to win

Nicky Hayden has said - he's not there to take 2nd or 3rd he wants the top step. Indeed Honda don't pay bonuses for positions, only for winning.
Beating the other person or the other team is what 'sport' is all about.
Winnings everything, Losing's nothing, as was once said.

If you dont understand that, and was motivates sports people,
You dont, in my opinion have the understanding needed to appreciate any sport completely.

stoner is slightly frightened for himself and he is not relaxed. his body language cant lie. he didnt have a choice to do what he did and that is just great. its the squirmy way he comments about other riders ,talks about rossi's "questionable passes" (??) talks about moaning and bull**** like that, shows fingers, etc and yet with a very repetative same performance on the best bike/tyres combo , and not enough development to really show what he is like long term. not important what he says about other riders ? maybe. sucked out the life of motogp? definitely.
2007- only season i didnt really enjoy watching the races. for sure not his fault / but not the reputation either im afraid.

Hey Gina

Did you watch any races this year?

Didn't Rossi question passes made by Toni Elias and have a major dummy spit?

Maybe what Stoner needs to do is place a curse on a rider, just like Rossi did with Gibernau. Then the fans will think it's cool and funny.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Stoner several times. I have found Stoner is a very quiet person, whom I have found prefers the quiet life of his farm with his wife and family in place of acting the fool and gobbing off when he wins races. It's funny what blinkers can do to certain fans.

I can see that Gina sees Stoner as a major threat, that is why she is so obsesed with bagging the crap out of him.

rossi placed a curse on Gibernau? this one is the best dumbness ever!
rossi had just discovered that Gibernau is /was his own worst enemy with his mind and fear from losing -egoism /- only revelation - quite simple stuff , that an "expert" calls a curse.
eliases passes cannot be compared.
Rossi? always clean in passing - obvious even to the sparrows on the trees, but not to the "expert"...
stoner - is a major threat to sucking the life out of motogp completely, but not that much of a threat really. he does appear quiet. a loner. with a presidential wave.im trying to attach some personality to him and believe me its very hard work.

That's because you haven't got a single brain cell in your head. As for Rossi clean on passing - delibrately pushing Gibernau into the gravel at Jerez, if it had been anyone other than Rossi doing it, then they would have been disqualified. And that's just one example. Then he has the nerve to start moaning when Elias and Hopper get a bit over enthusiastic. Always been one rule for Krusty and another for everyone else.

As for calling Hayden just a podium champion - I simply refer to him as the man who handed Krusty a portion of whoopass. :)

BTW the only thing I see Rossi developing new are new ways of getting out of paying his taxes. Absolute disgrace when he earns all that money and won't even make his contribution to society like the rest of us working people who don't earn anything like him.
