I think Hayden was testing a 16" rear tire and Dani was running the 16.5", which in post race testing Hayden swithced back to the 16.5" and ran .9 faster.

R&D should take place on test tracks not in gp races. Rossi's engine failure is another example of a testing gone bad in a race.

These guys are racers let them race, cut the politics, favoritism, and corporate crap that seems to be driving the sport right now.

The only thing you ever developed is a hemorrhoid.
It is affecting your brain too, go see the Doctor.
You are neither a judge nor a connaisseur of the sport.

Right, back to Nicky.
Nicky may not be the fastest guy in the paddock. He is certainly a fast and on Sunday he gives it his best. Nicky is also very consistant which contributed to his WC last year.
Nicky is always an absolute professional. He doesn't trash Honda, even when it's obvious it was designed for Dani. He kept working without complaint. He never made any cracks about someone winning because they were lucky like Rossi did. Contrast his behavior to Rossi this year. I have never heard a 500cc/MotoGP guy complain or make up more excused than he did this year. Rossi can certainly learn sportsmanship and professionalism from Nicky. I hope he has a great 2008. :) :)

Kermit. I agree with you about Nicky. I have said this before, I think he rode better this year than last. I Hope this trend can continue next year.

I think you are wrong about Rossi though but hey, thats forums for you.

Gina,
I'm american so I like some americans. Of them, I like Nicky best now, but I wasn't always a fan of his. When he started in MotoGP I was ambivelant about him. Thought he was over rated. BUT, The guy won me over during the last few years with his work ethic, improvement and consistency. I was happy for him last yr.
This yr I am also real happy for Casey. Next yr maybe Dani or Marco. One 'merican I can do without is Edwards. He made a comment regarding Rossi's "bump" pass of Gib at Jerez, which wasn't a clean pass and resulted in Gib going off track, "I would have done it too". Don't like him any more. :)

I like american riders too. Nicky is last on my list and I do not dislike him - just think he doesnt have the potential to be No.1 twice - so it looks like it will be once. Very generous and professional guy. the odd protest that happened against rossi last year in Ph Island was just a little panic reaction, so understandable. a bit of a poser, but that is understandable too under the context. his dirt track experience may be a bit of a disadvantage to his riding style and adaptation to the 800's so i guess not his fault; all good, but just good. edwards - like his personality, nothing wrong with honesty. Hopkins first on list. Kawasaki is sharper and will suit his energy better.

I agree with you slow joe, the bikes are comparable but for Hopkins the change might do him good.
Still, I don't see him win the title...
