I think Hayden was testing a 16" rear tire and Dani was running the 16.5", which in post race testing Hayden swithced back to the 16.5" and ran .9 faster.

R&D should take place on test tracks not in gp races. Rossi's engine failure is another example of a testing gone bad in a race.

These guys are racers let them race, cut the politics, favoritism, and corporate crap that seems to be driving the sport right now.

MOTOGP » Q&A: Nicky Hayden

After a tough year on track defending his number one plate but without much luck, American Nicky Hayden is determined to take it back in 2008. He has put the new RC212V through its paces and was suitably impressed…..

rossi took the inside line because of only one reason and that is : he can because he is oustandingly fast; that line was clear and undisturbed and therefore clean;
the fact that gibernau didnt expect him there at that time, so his line started crossing into rossi's which i call slamming into, is actually his lack of vision at that speed, and if you notice in similar moves from gibernau to rossi - rossi is able to detect him fast enough to move out of his clean line ( same lap )...

Actually, Rossi had quite a few banzai passes. Remember when he took out Marco(I think Marco broke his foot that time, not sure). I also remember a race when he was penalized for scrubbing the tarmac on his start position and started last- did an absolute crazy lap- cut everybody on his way, only to crash in next lap. Propper nutter!

not sure if rossi did lose the bike there. gibernau's foot went of the footrest at the same time, so that could be interpreted that he's the one that lost the bike first...rossi like pedrosa often uses that move often seen in left handers as a regular one?

Not sure.. Give him a crappy bike and we'll see how desperate he can get!
Anyway.. why Casey? Does he strike you as the most sensible one?

why stoner? because personally i find it hard or awkward to imagine... im trying to picture and compare the racing and passes we were mentioning just prior to this question, and the difference to the 2007 season which is stoner's year.
maybe not important to compare - but looking for an insight of what kind of development and changes is motogp going to go through.
as for desperation..yeah he would get desperate, but dont think he's do much more than what he would in 2006...

Well, it's not Stoners fault that other teams were rubbish this year. What was he to do- slow down in order to have some proper races? Give the kid a brake, it's up to other teams to catch up and be competitive, then we will see can Casey cope with the pressure and produce some real dicing.

who mentioned guilt and giving him a break? of course he had to do what he had to do. his own way. Like Frankie said. and sure..other teams if anything will surely improve if not catch up. was just commenting of different styles and lifestyles that we witness.
i apologize.

The other 'situation' you refer to Mr. Rock was when Rossi did actually lose it on braking (was it at sepang?)
and ran into Marco Melandri, his footpeg ran into Melandris foot creating a deep fleshwound.
I believe it had to be stitched.
Het went over to Marco and apologized and it was accepted.
It is so easy to blow these things out of proportion, he had no interest or meaning to directly attack Marco,
it was he same kind of accident as Pedrosa/Hayden at Portugal '06 or Guintoli/Hofmann at Laguna Seca '07

Yes, I remember the onboard shot from marco's bike after the crash- the bike has just settled and you can see Rossi running to Marco waving and apologizing..
