Its gotta be frustrating when you're the best/most talented rider on the circuit and essentially relegated to spectator as a result of your sub par bike/tire package. It's true the Yahama has never been the fastest, but it's also true that it's progressively getting worse. The best rider should at least be on competitive equipment....clearly he is not. I hope that Rossi gets his opportunity to put the smack down once again and reclaim what is rightfully his. Yamaha rested on its laurels and the competition blew by em. He's got every right to call em out on it and light a fire under their *****.

Valentino Rossi has increased the pressure on Yamaha to produce an instantly-competitive 2008 YZR-M1 by publicly pondering a future switch to Ducati.

Isnt it amazing that the only comeback you all have is to say Rossi is gay. Gay, straight, yellow leathers with flowers - I dont care, this guy has been the most entertaining thing on two wheels for a long time. If thats all you can comment on in a racing forum - I think you'd be better off in a womans gossip magazine forum! ;)

Seriously though - back to racing post please!!!

thats what happens with you sleepy lethargic souls. when you have no facts that verify what YOU WOULD WISH to happen ( like stoner becoming a greater legend than agostini and rossi together after 10 wins in his life )..then you have no choice but to get back to your animal instincts; cause all the imaginary escape routes into stoner-legendland have worn out.
hasnt happened yet and very hard to happen at all.
and you have to be a great personality first, to get there as a rider second. and it takes a bit more than just 10 races. who wouldve expected a female has to teach you those basic lessons?
im hapy to though. i love helping lost people

Well there are lots of very bored people out there already - just what are you going to do with your time? The racing doesn't start until March next year!
That's why we are here - FOR THE MOTORCYCLE RACING!! Why don't you lot get a grip and stop slagging everyone off and enjoy the sport for what it is.
Look it's a motor sport - lots of men racing in protective clothing racing around in circles. Usually the team with the best rider, budget & gear wins and there can only be one champion every year. It doesn't get any simpler than that and you lot are making it look like a second rate soap opera. So let's grow up and give this sport and those who take part in it the respect it deserves.

One factor being ignored here is the job of the rider, any rider, is to promote the brand, helping to sell motorcycles. You undermine that by being openly critical in the media. Such discussions should be behind closed doors.
Rossi is arrogance in two ways - firstly the belief that the team is there for his benefit when it should be the other way. Secondly, that he's still wanted by every team (perhaps that's more conceit than arrogance).
I don't believe Honda would take him back - the looks of glee on the Honda bosses when any Honda overtakes Rossi tells you that. HRC don't forgive or forget.
Ducati doesn't need him and he (& his fans) don't at all fit the brand profile of Ducati.

Ducati invited Rossi to join them - years ago. Ducati had huge potential from very beginning, with Rossi they could have win in their debut season, you can imagine the rest. Many people, myself included, would have loved an Italian champion on an Italian bike. But Rossi did not need Ducati then, too small wallet?
Now suddenly Rossi needs Ducati, after they are winning without him ...
I've followed Rossi's career since he started on 125cc, and used to have lots of respect for him. This respect is decimated now, what a loser.

Rossi displays all the characteristics of a once-great sports person or celibrity who cannot face up to the reality that they are in decline.
The 'blame game' is just a defensive mechanism so that he can avoid facing up to the truth.
Yamaha should fire him. Then let's see just how many people really would still be interested.

As a Ducati owner, I DEFINITELY don't want to see Rossi on one.
To think of all his moronic followers pretending to be Ducati fans is a thought too appalling to contemplate.
PLEASE stay with Yamaha, or anyone else for that matter!

carlos, Rossi owns nothing.

PhillW quite right i couldnt put it better my self.

History should look at what yamaha did Sheene when he was there, they hadnt forgot what he said once about a 250 yam in public. which is why i am amazed that yam have let him say these things for so long, esp as the sole purpose of racing the bikes is to sell them. dont look good if ur leader rider is saying the bike is slow and only he makes it win, its even worse when its a total load of rubbish.
