Its gotta be frustrating when you're the best/most talented rider on the circuit and essentially relegated to spectator as a result of your sub par bike/tire package. It's true the Yahama has never been the fastest, but it's also true that it's progressively getting worse. The best rider should at least be on competitive equipment....clearly he is not. I hope that Rossi gets his opportunity to put the smack down once again and reclaim what is rightfully his. Yamaha rested on its laurels and the competition blew by em. He's got every right to call em out on it and light a fire under their *****.

He gets away with it because he's the only rider to bring any real success to the team since Wayne Rainey. Yamaha obviously respect what he and JB have done for them and feel like they are letting him down and thus stay quite for now. In Japan, honour and saving face is everything and they will only put up with public crticism for so long, or until they have a better option. If he doesn't deliver next year and any of the other Yamaha riders are showing good potential then I Yamaha may hand him his P45.

The arrogance belongs to the people who believe every word they read and assassinate someones character with their misconception. If you only had the intelligence to see it . Rossi fans are Rossi fans they are not buying a brand they are rejoicing a genius

Yes PJ - you are absolutely right that Rossi fans are not buying a brand, they support the person.
But is that the point of motorcycle racing?
Yamaha hired Rossi to help them sell more motorcycles. Has this happened?
I wonder what proportion of Rossi fans are even motorcycle owners?
The fans' loyalty rests solely with the man and they turn their spite on Yamaha if they don't deliver what Rossi wants.
Hawkeye rightly points out saving face in critical in Japanese culture. Yamaha will be extremely upset about Rossi's comments, and they won't be forgotten.
Yamaha will do its best to deliver a bike for next year that does the job but don't expect for one second to see Rossi's contract renewed.
