Its gotta be frustrating when you're the best/most talented rider on the circuit and essentially relegated to spectator as a result of your sub par bike/tire package. It's true the Yahama has never been the fastest, but it's also true that it's progressively getting worse. The best rider should at least be on competitive equipment....clearly he is not. I hope that Rossi gets his opportunity to put the smack down once again and reclaim what is rightfully his. Yamaha rested on its laurels and the competition blew by em. He's got every right to call em out on it and light a fire under their *****.

Hi Morgue, I think you are wrong. CrashNet and it's forums are a perfect reflection of public opinion and as for your belief that race fans are a suportive bunch; I'm old enough to remember King Carl Foggarty and his amazing support. Now most race fans brand him an arrogant tosser! I shudder to think how history will treat Rossi.

Fair enough Jacko,
what I mean is that people behave differently when they are stuck behind an IP adress,
I've never seen racefans go at eachothers throat in real life (maybe you have - hope not).
It's the way of the world we live in - bigmouths galore.

let's think in many aspects about this thing...

rossi has consider a possible switch to ducati, but will ducati pay an astronomical sum of salary to earn his services? as a fan i don't really care about this because as far as i concerned we can wee whether he is better than stoner on the equal machine. but if i were the team manager i would think many times before signing him because those cash probably better being invested to improve the bikes for current race-winning riders. perhaps it's better to have two riders competing for race wins rather than pooling cash and resoruces for one rider, with the other one have to compete on second-rate equipment as the result.

in this sense maybe rossi can learn from schumacher and f1; rather than ranting to the press just to pressure yamaha, it would be better for him to put his head down and redouble his effort in pre-season testing and race. perhaps the best example he can learn is from the late 70s f1 world champions such as anderetti, lauda, and scheckter. those world champions are well-known as the accomplished test drivers rather than out-and-out racers, because they win largely on the basis of their technical knowledge of the machine. if he can take his time reading their stories (i hope he would) and adopt their approach, i'm sure he will challenge for the world title next year.

'History' as you call it will treat him as one of the great protagonists of the sport, Like Giacomo Agostini, Mike Hailwood,
Jarno Saarinen, Kenny Roberts and Mick Doohan (to name but a few).
'most race fans' - did you do a headcount?

have to say I have the luck to have a very open partner that will say stuff exactly how he thinks loud : in 2006 @ Ph.Island motogp among the crowd he was betting anybody on which lap was stoner going to crash and was loudly commenting how Antony west was the worst ever whinger on this planet blaming every bike and every weather for all of his failures. ( that is before he joined the motogp.) since then he stopped being a whinger - which is good. i mean West ( not stoner )
people/auusie fans around were kinda giving him the sideway looks - but coz at the time it was all pure truth..nobody really took offence. there was no conflict really... :D

rossi really is making his latter years look bitter and more childish than when he was doing all the costumes and gags. It will be interesting to see what he blames next season. He's never addressed Jeremy Burgess's comments about how he screwed up more than once this season. Also the speed differential he mentioned; Dennis Noyes wrote an interesting article dismissing the speed differential, early in the season. Besides since when did outright top speed win a title. It never did for the RC45 when it raced against the 916. One title for the RC45 yet it was always the fastest motorcycle on track. I think the swith to Bridgestone was a mistake, so does Burgess. The excuses have to stop.

Rossi had his chance to go to Ducati before joining Yamaha.A challenge is what he needs and he had that at Yamaha and won titles with them.Rossi should be on Ducati as a Italian on Italian Machionary trying to win a World Title for the Ferrari of Mtogp would have been the real deal.Stoner took his chance and ran with it.Basically so many say it's the bike and not Stoner.Hey i think The total package is amazing this year.Rossi can have his cry and have his sour grapes but i just don't want to hate a champion at the end of his career, like Schumacher(Cheating, cutting people off and saying crap etc...etc...).Rossi you make your bed and you sleep in it bitch.Change tyres, but what happens when Lorenzo starts beating you?????

I don't think Rossi has lost it, but I do think his rivals have closed the gap and he is desperate to get back on top and prove he is still the undisiputed KING of the sport.

If this rumor becomes reality, then I'm arfiad that Melandri may well become the sacrificial lamb for Rossi. His results in 08 will certainly dictate the outcome(and lets face it) Ducati with Stoner and Rossi together will beacome the perennial powerhouse team to beat!!!

My belief is that Dorna will push behind the scenes to make this deal happen, because with Rossi not winning revenue is down, and for Dorna this isn't good for business.

Dorna gets what they want with corporate influence and ***
