Yes.
Do you really want to judge a rider on his first 29 laps ?

Dovisiozo is a fantastic rider, very balanced and almost 'un-Italian' in his reactions.
Steady performer (in the rain too unlike Lorenzo).
He is already faster than the qualifying time of Carlos Checa at this track, after a handfull of laps experience.
If he continues like this he will go straight into the HRC works team in 2009, instead of Hayden.
The only weak point I can say about him is that he is sometimes a bit too 'sweet' when being overtaken by real h a r d a s s
riders (idiots like Hector Barbera).

Quite right about Dovi's temperament. He kept it to himself for two years when he was outgunned by Lorenzo on a developed bike compared to his. No mouthing off about Honda's lack of power/development/commintment. He deserves his break with Honda.

Dovi will be the most deserving for the Rookie of the year but will miss out (see prev post).
Dovi has the right attitude, temperament and the ability to one day be World Champion. In fact I think he will be Italy's next MotoGP World Champion.
As for the rest of the rookies-
Jorge will bin it too often, spit the dummy and go back to 250's (or the doof doof clubs of Majorca)
The Toe will find it tough on the kit he's given.Even Yamaha's best bike (Rossi's bike) will be behind the Repsol Hondas & the factory Dukes.
De Angelis, well he's De Angelis isn't he and I don't think we'll see anymore than we already have.
Prepared to say none of the rookies will find their way onto the podium in 08

Everybody needs more time on the bike.....so is this a prelude to a "behind the eightball scenario.
Its OK to learn a track by following, but eventually you have to develope your owns lines.

Andrea will slaughter ALL noobs on his Ducati.

King Toe will never amount to anything on that bike.

Silvan will be the suprise feel good hit of the season

Rossi will get rookie of the year. Dorna will give it to him when he starts squaking about going to WRC/F1/A1GP/BTCC as an offering to keep him in Motogp after he finishes FOURTH in 2008. Justification will be that he hasn't raced on Bridgestones in MotoGP before, therefore it's his rookie season.

Oh and in front of him will be Pedrosa, Stoner, Hayden & Melandri in pretty much that order.

Why - because Honda will build a much better machine for 2008 and the Ducati will carry forward it's 2007 performance plus a little more. Michelin will also improve Honda's tyres by a long way.

James, James, James.......

Time on the bike plus
A decent bike,
Better tyres,
Better team,
A teammate who is motivated and will provide a challenge to beat,
A touch more talent,
And a truck load of luck

And Mister Softly - he'll be lucky to finish top 10,

It will be very tough indeed, however Guintoli did some nice things on it so we'll see.
I was surprised to see Edwards riding in the Fiat gear outfit on what seems to be his old bike,
shouldn't he be sporting Tech 3 stuff? or is that in the new year?
All the other ones are riding neutral stuff.
Anyway, I think James couldn't have wished for a better partner on the tracks I think,
loads of experience and a pace that may be a good focuspoint for him (at first).
(and lots of laughs) :)

who's judging him morgue ? i'm toseland through and through and think he will destroy edwards this year. i struggle with colin's lack of ambition - the guy is only 33 and you can see he's given up already. he's basically a test rider this year.

hopefully james for rookie of the year and a top six finish, but it will be tough on the yam
