Comparing JT to the best F1 driver of all time is ridiculous. He is nowhere near that class of racer.I would say he is not even in the top 5 of all WSBK racers of all time. The guy never even managed to do a double. He has had everthing handed to him on a platter.Look at the teams he rode for in WSBK.HM Plant, the best factory support team.Factory Ducati,by far the best bike when he rode it,and only managed a few wins.Ten Kate Honda, the best bike developed by the best team.He has not had to work to earn his motorcycle's success, the bikes have always been developed products. He knew he had to get out of ten Kate before the new Blade came because he can't develop it. He'll be back in WSBK in 3 yrs.

I also feel that 2 seconds behind the not so fast Colin Edwards is nothing impressive. It's ok to be behind Colin. But 2 seconds is just too much. Too much.

I think it's gonna be a fiasco.

JT is double World Champion he did it with Ducati and he did with Honda.
Colin was on last years full works bike, whereas James was on Tamada's customer bike.

What Yamaha need to do is have a big push in the engine development area.
In 2004 Yamaha produced 4 frames and four engine variants for Vale when he came across to Yamaha which shows that YRC can make a big push .
The M1 seems to handle ok, my concern would be is the frame/engine combination too demanding of the tyres in race conditions?
Lets hope that Yamaha go away this winter and turn up in January with a solution to the problems they had in 2007.

Most seem to be able to estimate Rossi's performance a little better now.

Give Colin a (Factory)Honda and see what he can do...

Go JT. I think there is more to come from this guy. As someone else mentioned, James seems to be slow learner but when he does learn, he is fast, fit and extremely determind. I think he will worry lorenzo next year and if Yamaha can produce the goods, then he might suprise a few more also.

Herve's comments seem genuine but you never really know.

One thing. How small does that Yamaha look compared to the Honda superbike with James aboard?

WTF are you saying dude? You are already dissing JT and JL for being crap riders. For your information they are both starting out as riders in the Moto GP class especially JT. The reason why he was last is because at the moment he is still getting used to the bike, the circuit, the setups and everything else in Moto GP. Being from a WSBK rider to Moto GP is quite a hard task to do. Look at Colin. It took him ages to get podiums and now he has got quite a few as so as Chris Vermulean. Give some respect to James will ya motp Yeah I think James will go for podiums and possibly wins in 2009 season on a good bike and we will see a future British Moto GP champion.

It's a shame that JT and JL are getting bashed about results with no more than 72hrs. of seat time on PROTOTYPE MACHINES that require more understanding and finesse than there previous bikes  For some of you vet's on here I tip my hat to you for your rational thinking and comments. For the rest of you I wonder even if you ride at any level, because if you did you would realize that even at your level it takes time and many different suspension settings to get your bike right to even lower your unofficial lap times doing track days. So I say grow up and admit that you don't have the faintest idea what it takes to become competitive at this level motogp or any level
