kr bikes aside indeed!

but yes, i was surprised how Jt, but even more JL chose Yamaha. Hopefully Yamaha will make us eat our words. Till then, i am skeptical. Theyhave the best developement rider (Rossi), and a very good tyre developer too (Colin). And evenso, they ve miserably failed in 07 and 06. Is slower on top speed, even further back in terms of acceleration ... Hopkins said mid season after battling rossi for a few laps that he "knew which bike and tyres he really didnt want to ride in 08"

The buzz James creates after one test is really amazing, a lot more then Lorenzo.
He is an asset to the paddock, I'm really curious how he will fare at Jerez,
hopefully Yamaha will have his definite '08 bike ready then. :)

JT has consistency... that's where he has prevailed where the others failed. he did double in wsbk just once, but he managed to win it even though by two points. he won his first title with ducati also through consistency rather than outright pace. so it's not fair to say that he is well off the pace...

I think Chu that Honda didn't offer him a MotoGP ride for next year so that one was out of the equation. Ducati was only offering a D'Antin ride (and we all know how "good" that is) after speaking to Neil Hodgson and the horrorshow he faced in that team I think he went with the bike that Rossi rides! As long as the Yamaha improves then he has the tenacity and ability to show how good he is. I can see him regularly being best Yamaha in races on Michelins (Given that Rossi will be on Bridgestones)

What is up with people who slag off riders even before thy get a chance to prove anything??? JT is our best hope of a MotoGP racr we have had in years.. Hodgson chose the wrong team,Ellion was never that good anyway
JT comes into it with 2 WC's behind him, winning more races than anyone this year on not the best bike which he developed last year (New CBR in 06) when he came second only to Bayliss in his first year on it.
He has had 2 and a half days on a new bike/Suspension/Team/Tyres/Track and still only .5 bhind the next yam. And bear in mind when the Gp boys got there for the 1st time on 800's this year after 3 sessions with jame's time would have put him 13th infront of Caparossi!!

There is no doubting JT's desire and professionalism, but in my opinion he will just fall short. Yes, he did extremely well in WSB but the depth of field was 5 riders, or so. MotoGP is full of top riders and unless Yamaha pull their fingers out and Mich up their game then it will be fight for top ten's!

I agree Yamapimp, but you can say that about anyone in MotoGP such is the depth of strength in the field. If you don't have the "right" tyres and your bike is slow, you're gonna struggle. Realisitcally I think if JT is seen to "do well" on the bike and achieve
good results in his first season then hopefully he will either progress onto a better bike (different team) or into the factory squad.

Listen to yamapimp, folks. And sober up. Edwards would leave JT in dust in WSBK on equal machinery, how good is CE in MotoGP ... ?

Bayliss beat Edwards, Toseland beat Bayliss. I see no reson why Toseland wouldnt have and will beat Edwards.
