Hehee. Toseland beat Bayliss? When? If those 4cyl got their act together with TC and Bayliss was pretty much helpless on that underpowered Ducati? I wish you people could think, but obviously you can't. But what do i care. You are going to be bitterly disappointed with this "British best hope", not me.

Actually Edwards beat Bayliss when Bayliss had a better bike. In Fact, Bayliss has only ever won consistantly when he had the best bike in the field. But I digress.

S.Alec. If you don't care, why post your biased drivel here?

Because I hope to get you down on earth. JT will fight for 13th in his good days and give consolation to KR team on his bad days. I'm biased? Toward what? Toward realism?

Superbikes are a completely different animal 2 Moto GP bikes. Its well documented that 800cc Moto GP bikes need a 250cc riding style - high corner speeds & keeping the momentum up. Superbikes have a completely different style.

So not only has JT had to ride a new bike, with new tyres, new brakes, new circuit, new electronics he also has to try a new style (phew!) Rather him than me! The fact is that you cannot run before you can walk. Who won the race - the tortoise or the hare?

I'm British and of course will support Toseland 100% - but it WILL be tough. Mentally and physically he is up there with the best of them. He's not big headed or arrogant & is down to earth. He'll do fine...

Nothing against James here, he has my sympathy. To be competitive in MotoGP is something else though, I think his move was a little naive. I can't see how he could be up against those elite guys there, even on a better bike than Yamaha. But i think we'll see it?

Going to motogp is currently a stepdown at least for us spectators currently. It may also be a stepdown for the rider see Dovizioso's comments (easy to ride than 250), Barros's (not allowed to beat factory ducs) Checa's not real bikes anymore...comments and so on. As much as I've loved the 500s and the 990s, in it's 800cc form motogp seems to be dieing a technical death. Honda/and friends seeing off potential rivals by aborting their motogp efforts with the 800cc rule before they've turned a wheel.

JT will do well he's not missing the skills and tanacity needed to succeed as he has shown many times. The question is will Yamaha be missing top end power and software developer needed?

S.Alec are you Australian or just a Bayliss fan? Bayliss spent 3 years in GP's on race winning bikes (He had a full factory bike built around him) yet failed 2 win on a full factory ride. He left went back to what he was good at and then returned with no pressure and trounced the entire GP field. And this year Toseland creamed him and he fell apart when JT should have done!(At brands he crashed trying to stay behind JT!) and if you think the Ducati is underpowered you r way off.
Bayliss is a great rider & he has true grit and I like him, but this year JT beat him,Corser,Haga and the mighty Biaggi (Even at Brno) he has an entire season to prove the doubters wrong I wish him all the success!

I think it was about JT not Bayliss? Nevertheless, I see you guys are hopeless, wishful thinking dominates rationality. Everyone, have a good day now.
We'll see next year, I think JT leaving MotoGP before the end of season is a possibility, because of appalling results.

if james is riding tamada's old bike as speculated then he's doing pretty well, as his best time of 2.03.550 on race tyres, albeit michelins, compares to tamada's best dunlop qualifier of 2.04.314 and guintoli's of 2.03.408.

they're not exactly the riders you wanted to be gunning it out with last season, but it puts into perspective how well he's progressed in his first testing with a new bike, new tyres, new brakes, new circuit and a majorly different riding style to learn.

and whoever said that toseland had the best bike last season, well that's partly true, but only because of his development. yamaha italia, alstare suzuki and xerox ducati had much more factory backing than ten kate.
