And it never was when Rossi was winning? Bull***** That guy had so many advantages handed to him it was ridiculous!

Michelin wins for 40 years straight, it's cool.
Bridgestone wins one year, change the rules.

Honda wins for several years in a row with Rossi on board, it's exciting.
Honda wins with Hayden on board, change the rules.
Ducati wins one year with Stoner on board: PLEASE CHANGE THE RULES!!!!!

Rossi wins for 5 years, it's Rossi and exciting.
Hayden and Stoner win for two years, it's boring, it's the bike, it's the tires, change the rules.

C'mon... Get a grip.

MOTOGP » Edwards explains Schumacher speed.

How did Michael Schumacher lap just five seconds slower than the MotoGP lap record?

For sure he is not 150 points better than Rossi or Pedrosa , definately not.
Tyres did play a huge part for sure and early season speed advantage no doubt helped too , Capirossi did appear to be finished , he does however seem to be alive again on the Suzuki so it will be good to see how he goes in 2008 , he'll never be a title contender though , Barros never was a title contender and i fully agree ref Hoffmann.
Let's hope it's all a little closer in 2008 , although i've always been a Rossi fan i'm not a fan over everything else , i don't mind who wins as long as the racing is close , hard fought in most races ( there will always be a race or two where someone just clears off.. )

Try going up against a bike that is 15km/h faster than Rossi's. Read the stories. Rossi has refused to use Michelins again. Doesn't that say something about Michelin? Rossi has told Yamaha, quite publicly, that if they do not come up with something good soon then he will go to Ducati in 2009. What does that say about Yamaha?

Actually the Ducati thing has been rubbished by Rossi this week , he said he'd retire rather than race a Ducati. ( Also Melandri & Stoner are contracted till end of 2009 & 2010 respectively )
So that leaves Kawasaki or Suzuki ( Honda , i don't know if you can go back ) and at the present time i reckon he would win races on either of those bikes.

Here we go again - a thread about Edwards & Schmumy deteriorates into the usual Stoner v Rossi bashing arguments.
Give it a rest for God's sake.
Instead of endless and pointless speculation, we will all see how the various protagonists do in 2008.

It is interesting that both Hayden and Edwards have said the same thing on separate occasions: after a certain point, turning the electronics DOWN makes you faster. Now who am I or any other reasonable person going to believe, two experienced MotoGP riders, or fans with an agenda on crash.net? :)

After dissing just about everyone in the paddock and stupidly burning so many bridges, perhaps Rossi could apply to become the #2 rider on Robert's team...

But I think it is fantastic that Schumacher had the chance to ride a MotoGP bike. You always hear about Mamola taking people for a ride, but sitting on the back seat just isn't the same.

U may be faster in a perfect lap , althou gh i do not believe uit at all. But to go 25 laps knowing u can open throttle whiole leaning down, knowing you wont get a tank slapper cos the front wheel doesnt leave the ground etc etc ....all that allows the rider to avoid tension and menatally the race is so much easier knowing t s very unlikely to crash

electronics favour slower riders period.
