All your hard work is not in vain Nicky. Keep it up. We all notice that. When the tenure's over many manufacturers will want your services, and hopefully things will get going again.

Tank; suffice to say that there are 4 Jap bike makers in MotoGP. I do not argue with fools other wise people wouldn't know who was who.

There's loads of computers at Ducati Corse, in the development stages, in the engine testing department
in the pitbox and inside the bike itself

Ducati was designed and built by hands on engineers,not computers, mankind is still smarter than a computer, although with some comments of this forum the computer is coming out on top.

Well we all agree that for such a small company they have done incredible well.
The race department of Ducati has about 100 people everbody involved.HRC has about 2200.
Tank, the first year Ducati participated was 2003 and they already won a grand prix and had some great podiums.. I think that Kawasaki would have signed for these results..I agree with Saltbush that as a rider, you only can perform at the best if the team is 100% behind him. So it pleases me to here that casey has been taken seriously, and that he feels at home. I hope that he will join Ducati for a long period. A rider who knows how to setup a bike against his crew, and perform great must be a great rider!!

Watch the vid Saltbush, you cannot keep up it was designed by hand if you see them working with threedimentional computer models in which even the route of the exhausts and waterhoses for the liquid coolant are projected.

You may romantize it and think there are a group of highly skilled Italian welders at work

Morque; viewed the video you were so eager for me to see, what I saw were items being designed on a computer not BY a computer, this computer/s is just replacing a drawing board/s and slide rule it is the experienced engineers input that is doing job,I also saw much terotechnolgy and workers with hands on did I miss something?????

It is also a known fact that Ilmoor use blacksmiths to build their bikes and that their dyno measures horsepower by using real horses. Unfortunately, due to unexpectedly high vets bills the horses were sold to a French meat wholesaler, hence the demise of the team. Interestingly he wouldn't take Jeremy McWilliams, which goes to disprove the theory that you can flog a dead horse.

You miss something Saltbush,
parts are being developed by tools like the finitive elements method, simulated strenght tests and stereo lithography, whereby the threedimensionally genereated parts can be prototyped 'in the flesh', made out of resin and used as molds for for instance engine casings. I've worked in Cad/Cam for a decade, take it from me, it's a virtual world out there.
You can even do the engina and windtunnel tests in a computer environment, the real testing is done to verify the calculations and check strenght/wear/durability.
