Good to see the Bridgestones haven't sent Rossi backwards, but overall I don't think this proves anything except for how strong Stoner is going to be next year.

Rossi won this race in 2007, with an all-Michelin podium. So, relative to that result, Rossi has taken one step back and Stoner has taken a huge leap forwards. What I'm waiting for is the 2008 Yam, on a track they didn't do well at.

Dray, what have you been smoking?

I don't really want to see Stoner run away with it but calling him a great crasher? not anymore he isn't, he gets the very most out of a tricky bike (look at him compared to his team-mates) and to get the most out of it he has to find it's limit. I'd love to see Rossi on the same bike, that would be an awesome fight. I don't mean to wind-up the Rossi fanboys by saying this, I was a big fan of his until he resorted to blaming the bike and tyres for his form and getting distracted by the press; he should re-group and fight, Doohan style.

Good to see JT making progress, be interesting to hear him on how it's going and to see if his boss' support continues

Why can't Rossi ahead of Pedrosa or at the top of the timesheet like he used too? Wat a joke. Did he need half a season to do that? Shouldn't Bridgestone IS the best tire? Unless if he done 100 laps or so without pitting, then it's called impressive. Btw, it's the same black round thing...

Pity to Melandri. Transition from Honda to Ducati is not very easy. Now every aspect of the bike need to be setup effectively not like a Honda. On the other hand, Guintoli seem benefited from his experiences in setting up Yamaha M1 to be used on his Ducati.

Good to see JT and Lorenzo improving. Since Yamaha and Michelin were not superior, I'm impressed though...LOL!

Sigh, I thought it was quite an impressive debut on Bridgestones. He didn't actually try many tyres at all, he just threw the standard hard bridgestones in and got some laps under his belt, i'm sure there is more to come when he tweaks the bike and tries some other compounds.

God-O-Mighty! Can't Rossi get a break? The guy has done an AWESOME job for his 1st day on a totally new tire. With no data mind you. He does something postive and people right off the bat start dogging him. Greg says: "I don't think this proves anything except for how strong Stoner is going to be next year. Rossi won this race in 2007, with an all-Michelin podium. So, relative to that result, Rossi has taken one step back and Stoner has taken a huge leap forwards." My GOD! He may won the race on Michelins but, those were tires he had been helping develop. He has NO experience on the tires he used today and he was 0.3 of seconds from the front! That's saying a TON.

I bet Stoner would not want Rossi 0.3 of secong behind him in an actually race in the early laps because he knows that Rossi usually waits patiently, till about mid race to make his move for the front. A good mental strategy if you ask me because, it wears the people in front of him out mentally knowing that he's there, waiting... 0.3 is very close. A distance that Rossi can makeup in no time and in doing so, stripping all confidence anyone in front had. Look at the race in Japan, he made up a almost 4 second gap on Melandri and Stoner only to see the pit in the next lap like babies. Let Rossi develop the tires more and then we'll see how "Strong" Stoner is. If he beats Rossi, I'll be quiet.

Rossi whinged until Yamaha got him Bridgestones and he's still .293 behind The Master. That would put him a patheic 8secs. behind over race distance. So what's he going to do now? Maybe whinge until Yamaha buy him a Ducati and stick Yamaha badges on it.Time to go to WRC full time Valentino.

Ha, ha, this is not a question of Bridgestone vs Michelin for Rossi. He did not have a choice. He insulted the French by brandishing a Marco Materrazi T-shirt last year. So now he has to run to Bridgestone to escape the French fury.
