Rossi underestimated Michelin at his own peril. Michelin won something like 21 of the last 25 championships. FIVE of which were Rossi's. Do you think Michelin is just going to say "Oh,that's too bad about Bridgestone beating us" and keep doing what they were doing? Hell no. They're just as pissed as Rossi is. Valentino had his psyche wrecked this year and once the poison pill that Michelin sucks was planted in his head,he was done for. He even contradicted Burgess, who wanted to stick with Michelin. I believe Rossi's words were "Jeremy doesn't want to make hard decisions." Way to rally your troops there, champ. Throw your chief engineer under the bus. That'll motivate him to help you.

I agree Crarrs, but saying we don't like being beaten and then rectifying the problem are two very diffrent things. I'm sure Bridgestone dont like being beaten, either! Considering Bridgestone have only been in the championship for 5 years they,ve done a pretty remarkable job, dont you think? Yes, mich have won a load of championships, but for many of them they have been the only tyre companyy in it. Considering the amount of data they must have picked up along the way only goes to show just how good the Bridgestones are. 25 years of data against 5 years. Hmmm

Gotta agree with yamapimp there. It all goes to show that historical sucess does not guarantee you the right to win in the future. Same goes for manufacturers and riders too.

Coooorrect. People are assuming Michelin can bounce back next year. It could take them several years, maybe never. Nothing lasts forever and I´m sure Rossi knows more about this stuff than any of us

Mich may bounce back, they may not either. Bridgestone masy raise the bar even further, who knows, not me thats for sure but what I do know is, Rossi knows more about what he's doing than I do. Thats what competition is all about. Thank god it didn't go one make all we'd all be running around on crap tyre.

There cant be a great deal of difference between the bridgestone and michelin in overall performance, the bridgestones appear to suit the ballsout throw it around style of stoner and the michelins seem to suit the smoother style of pedrosa, just where that puts rossi we will have to wait and see.

Very true tommo. But I must say Stoner looked pretty smooth to me in 07! Rossi looked like he was throwing it around to keep up. So if your theory is correct then the Bridgestones should suit him, but who will win the title?
