One thing I notice and admire about Champions like Rossi and Michael Schumacher is their humble assessment of a situation and their gratitude towards the team. I hope both Rossi and Stoner recover before next test.

After being an impressive second fastest on only his second day with Bridgestone tyres, Valentino Rossi slipped to eleventh after a painful end to 2007 at Jerez on Thursday.

Why did Edwards seem to off the boil? obviously, none of us know how difficult it is to ride these motogp bikes but he did show promise when he arrived in the paddock and was going in the right direction when he went to Honda (and he could certainly ride the superbike). It does seem that he might just have been cashing the cheques with Yamaha but it can't be that simple, can it?

This is the real Grromm speaking to Morgue. Why do you get so agitated over my remarks about putting a new, serious image? I am sure that guy himself is able to take any constructive criticisms positively.

'You may assume that name anyway' about says it, doesn't it?
You are about as real and genuine as a kangaroo egg.
Try and be original instead of copying others.

Edwards just didn't make the top in MotoGP, like many, many others.
He tried, like Toseland does, and that is a great achievement in itself.
Anyone around here who thinks he can top him on a MotoGP bike, come forward,
If he was just around to collect cheques they would have let him off long ago...
Go Colin! :)

Fair point Morgue. I don't really think he would cash the cheques either. I think he is a great guy who says it like it is (unlike some of the other sponsers puppets out there). It's a shame this year was so bad (that Yamaha again eh?).

So what you are saying Morgue, is that before you can pass any form of critique over a rider then you must first be able to ride a motogp bike better than them?

No ofcourse not Waltzin,

but I don't think any of the riders in this field get their place for free or take it for granted.
Some riders get heaps of credit from factories, others get kicked out after one season.
How did Julian Ryder put it 'anyone who can ride one of these bikes fast enough to qualify for a MotoGP race is a hero'
(though he was still talking about 500cc twostrokes ;))

Yes I would agree, I don't think there are any freeloaders out there and I salute anyone who has the kahunas to race a motorcycle at any level not just motogp. Especially anyone brave enough to take part in the IOM TT or Irish road races. When I criticise a rider then I base it on how I think they perform relevant to other riders of the same class. If I could only criticise people slower than me then that would only leave the safety car driver...on second thoughts...make that the ice-cream van driver... :p

Grromm, welcome back I wondered where you had got to, as you have moved to Australia this explains your lack of postings it does take time to get through our Customs Department.I bet Ace27 will be overjoyed???? At the moment some of your postings are a little confusing it may take you a little time to get used to the Australian cold beer keep persevereing once your tongue gets over the numbness you will find the beer does taste good. Hope you enjoy your life here and you don't run into Ace27 until you have become accustommed to our climate stay out of the midday sun.

Edwards is a real good motogp rider without doubt, has never realy shown or maybe had chance to show just how good he realy is, & as Gina said above makes a very good partner in any team & I rate him as being one of those nitty gritty guys who never gives up & he certainly is not there just for the cheques, he want's to kick some *** beleive me.

Let's see how well he goes this year as I dont think the satelite Yamaha team is that much different to the main works team in terms of bike & let's not forget colin will basicaly be riding this years bike on tyres he's used to.

Edwards deserves all the respect & credit he's receiving on here for sure, well done to him & hope he finally wins.
