One thing I notice and admire about Champions like Rossi and Michael Schumacher is their humble assessment of a situation and their gratitude towards the team. I hope both Rossi and Stoner recover before next test.

After being an impressive second fastest on only his second day with Bridgestone tyres, Valentino Rossi slipped to eleventh after a painful end to 2007 at Jerez on Thursday.

We don't get much World Super Bike TV here, so I have been watching Toselands progress he seems to be a "grinder",,, a little bit at a time, it will be intertesting if he keeps improving just that little bit at a time, although I think the bike he's riding may be his biggest draw back, I believe that the same make of bike could be Rossi's biggest problem during 08, Yamaha to me have always seemed to have a fragile point somewhere and this was also when they won World Championships, it seemed to be the riders guts if it didn't break down more than the bikes performance?????

Anyone that under estimates Rossi this next year is gonna be in for a shock because he's like a kid with a new toy, motivated & I'm certain is out to prove a point next year.

And I will say it again any rider not just Rossi who is not supplied with the right tools to do the job has every right to moan whinge call it what you like, the guys right, when I used to work in the engineering game if the tooling wern't right for the job or I felt I could get better out of a different product Im right to speak up surely, my employers wanted that as they was set to gain from it if it worked, look at it like that & you will see waht I mean.

Rossi's comments seem to be totaly dissconected to that of his teams, probably becuase he thinks he is the team and everyone in a blue shirt is there to serve him.

All the Rossi Rogers have got this injury thing and yamaha to blame for him only winning 3 to 4 races in 08.
08 will be another exciting year with a super young talented rider on a difficult Ducati leading the way with a constant tank slapper wriggling him all over the road in a knock em down and drag em style. Its cool to see some style on show for a change.

Ace27,
Everyone in the friggin team is there to serve him or at least the team that work with him.

The ducati was easily the easy ride last year, however I know the thing still needs to be ridden so you have to give credit where its due but dont over rate Stoner.

Let's see if he can win anova 6 world titles eh, then we can call him a legend or se him in the same light as Rossi Doohan & others who can rightly claim such honours.

You also forgot to mention Michelin who in my opinion was 70% to blame for Rossi's sharpe decline in form.

Sorry Nigel but I don't think Capirossi would agree that the duke was how you put it "easily the easy ride last year", as Malandri is only too well finding out. Both these guys are very experienced, awesome riders.

here matilda, something about melandri -
http://www.visordown.com/forums/showthread.php?referrerid=24761&t=263763

hope it turns OK , copied and pastered and anyway - melandri is a wise guy - he wasnt focusing on the time. has to adapt the bike to his riding style. each rider would take a different time to adapt but once he feels it - it will BE easy to ride.
its like building rapport with the bike.
since the bike is the most powerful anybody would be motivated to do it right. So why would melandri wanna crash or something - just nicely and slowly gets to learn about the bike's personality - its like falling in love- if too fast relationship wont last long ;)

So many people have bashed Rossi for speaking up about how he feels have no idea what this game is all about, he's a professional and paid well to do it and if it ain't right
change it what is wrong with that if you took your car in and paid to get it fixed and it was still broke you would fuss too, only difference is you ain't getting paid 12m dollars to try and fix it :? Rossi set out too do exactly what he intended to do confirm that the stones were the right choice too make, using the 07 bike. It would make no sense to really test beyond that without having the 08 bike, so they use that as the base and work from their dah it is obivious. so all you who bash Rossi take a lesson cont'd

From a champion and how it should be worked. Yamaha will use these results to further tune and build the next generation Yamaha to start the championship quest in 08. I bet anyone that it will be a grate year of racing ahead. ;)
