Good to see the lad put his recovery, team, & sponsers above going out and getting on the turps. I guess it shows how dedicated he really is, and a team player he really is.

Best of luck lad, and hope your recovery is swift.

He might have to see Benji Marshall's surgeon, he's had a lot of practice.

JJ;the article was in a regional newspaper around where Casey lives and was what you would call a filler, such is the little coverage motorbike racing gets in Australia therefore there is no link but if you want a link to an Aussie cricketer(who is not a World Champion)who might be going to have an opperation on his wrist I can post many links?Another factor is Aussie Medics go on holidays for Christmas(summer)so Aussie's are not supposed to get sick or injuried during this time,I would say this is another reason Casey rushed back, hoping he can get an appointment before the New Year,I am not sure which Doc did his last opp but lets hope he gets preference
Phil do you wonder why we have wars?

Fantastic achievement by Ducati, too right that they should celebrate in style. They produced a bike that left the opposition for dead with a fraction of the resources. For the sake of the sport, I hope their 2008 bike is not so far ahead. Shame that Stoner couldn't be there to celebrate with them. Good to read that Loris was there, after all he developed that bike !

Yeah..would guess it is suggestive that a major injury like that would flow out into the public - easily as it is likely to cause a lot of disturbance - positive and negative...but would explain his absence from an important to ducati event..
ligaments - the worst to injure when it comes to "soft" tissues. the shoulder ones in particular are very deep and so close to the joint and bone, so if destroyed would need major restoration. not the best stuff to get damaged

He came back to Oz to see the same doctor who done his other shoulder a year or 2 back. He done a good job then so they going back to him. It would be sad to see next years title without one of the contenders due to injury.

I doubt whether there will be much information on Caseys injury, although Australia has a World Champion it seems to be a secrect with the large newspapers, sure they give PhillipIsland big coverage for the week before,by Tuesday the following week nothing. For the motorcycling enthustist DarrylBeattie has a TV show with much gossip/news but his show has closed for the summer break so it is the monthly bike magazines that will have a month old news.Perhaps there will be more local news from Casey's home town that get leaked to regional newspapers. In Australia Casey could walk through any main city in his leathers not many people would notice those that did would think he was from TV's Neighours

Good function in the shoulders (or the whole pectoral girdle) is critical in racing, especially under breaking
and also to support (active) breathing.
And if you have a bad day or end up in the gravel trap you need them to shrug...
