2007 was a snorefest, I don't care if you cut and paste all the 'action' together into a compact television programme,
it still doesn't make it exciting. It was hours of hanging about and nosepicking and seeing a sport go to the dogs.
If you get off on consistency that's your right, I want to see racing. We are being led to believe that watching midgets on
electronically controlled downsized racers is the same as watching battles of heroes of a bygone era, like Schwantz and Rainey.

gina- your either seriously deluded or just plain do not get it which is sad, which is it going to be then just keep ignoring the questions and keep pointing the finger at the messenger you are a laugh though, too funny...

I will keep asking the obvious questions the groupies will not accept the true answers too-
1. 'Why can nobody else ride the Ducati as consistently fast as Stoner' ?
2. 'Why if the Duc and BS tyres are such a superior machine could Alex and Loris not run with Stoner' ?

The challenge is waiting for a mature educated answer from just a single nay sayer :p

Saltbush- I agree in part re the sport needing rossi 'types' to a certain extent but no single rider is relied upon to carry the popularity of Moto GP. It existed just fine pre rossi as it will post rossi..... He is a good marketing machine for Moto GP mainly in europe BUT only as long as he is winning! This is motor sport and winners are grinners the rest are forgotten. Rossi in reality has only one more chance to redeme himself and that is the 08 season. The pressure is all on him now! as the young guns are seriously on the attack led by Casey.
And we have seen all to often in recent seasons how rossi handles pressure???? 06, 07 "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored" ;)

Rossi is good for MotoGp he has lifted its profile and has been a sticker for safety standards much in the vain of a modern Barry Sheene he has said many times rider safety must come first(not verbatim)you need these high profile personalities to get the message across to money hungry promotors, many riders do have safety in mind going back in time,Kenny Roberts snr he did not have the personality but backed Barry Sheene all the way,not sure if Rossi has a back up back up I am sure he would, all sports need a high profile person to progress it be it a Rossi or someone else to get the general public watching not only us MotoGp"groupies"Sure Rossi was on top, when on top there is only 1 way go to

Valentino Rossi is the best thing that happened to the sport for decades, creating a whole new generation of fans
allover the world (even in Australia).
He has the same role as Barry Sheene and Kevin Schwantz in their era, a charismatic winner and ambassador of the sport.
It has taken a lot of rule changes and electronic aids to let the socalled 'you guns' come near him
and that is a sad thing for the sport. It used to be about hard men on hard machines.
Barry Sheene must be turning in his grave...

If you seriously believe that a 500cc twostroke is the same as a computerized 800cc fourstroke that goes brrrrrrrr
at every corner exit because of the traction control kicking in then you don't know **** about mechanics.
... or should I say electronics?
Melandri struggles because (his words) 'I hardly know how to send am email'

Rossi would be battling creating a whole new generation of fans even in Australia unless he plays Cricket(spin bowler needed)Rugby both codes,Aussie Rules,Hockey or Synchronized Swimming. If he were Dutch he may get a coaching gig with the Socceroo's

Marty, you seemed to have ignored my previous post about Stoner and the Ducati. Would be interested to hear your opinion on the analogy with Doohan and the NSR screamer. D'antin dont count as they were very different.

One more question(which everyone seems to be ignoring!),
If you lot hate Moto GP and Dorna(and Rossi?) so much. Why do you watch? Is it because Stoner is Champion? Will you stop watching when/if he loses?? Or will you be happy when Rossi leaves? Surely one rider doesnt decide if your a fan or not? What about the other 25??
What do you like about this sport??? From reading your comments, you dont seem to have any passion for it at all!

Thats not a dig, just curious.. ;)
