2007 was a snorefest, I don't care if you cut and paste all the 'action' together into a compact television programme,
it still doesn't make it exciting. It was hours of hanging about and nosepicking and seeing a sport go to the dogs.
If you get off on consistency that's your right, I want to see racing. We are being led to believe that watching midgets on
electronically controlled downsized racers is the same as watching battles of heroes of a bygone era, like Schwantz and Rainey.

Continued.

Well folks we have a new class and it is the likes of Stoner, Pedrosa, who are up there and taking it to the former world champion. Not only are they taking it to him, they are giving it to the former champ. We also have Jorge and Dovi, plus a few others. The good times that Rossi once had are in the past and finally he has rider who have taken it to him and surpassed him.

Lets see what metal the former champion has and if he can make it back to the top of the heap, that is a mark of a real champion, coming back from adversity.

Get used to it kiddies, we are facing a new bright era in the sport, if you don't like it, go elsewhere.

THANK YOU Chaz and Hair Flick, you give me hope that intelligent MotoGP life will return after the mindless neon yellow scourge is gone. Morgue, you just do not get it, do you? Enough is enough, man. Opinion is one thing, sheer blustering and beligerence for the sake of one rider at the expense of an entire sport is something quite different. Take a vacation. Go find a rally track somehwere. Nobody except a few other neon yellow lemmings wants to hear it anymore.

I have no problem with competition, it is very healthy, read my remark on the 2006 season.
You may have to remove the wool from your eyes first :p
Work a bit on your black and white views about fans in the meantime (if you want to talk colours)

I can't believe people have taken so much offence to Morgue, 2007 was the first time in years I've gone to bed rather than watch a race out, it was all in all boring. The big difference when Doohan et al disappeared into the distance at least you could watch supreme bike control, power-sliding etc. This year Stoner was probably the most out of control at that amounted to little more than a continually 'bobble' under acceleration. We don't get qualifying on the tube here so I shuddered at Phillip Island listening to Pedrosa's bike continually cutting the engine on his hot lap, it's just rubbish. If Gina
and her dwarves want this then re-introduce 80cc's and allow Spaniards only.

1st :why mention my name Mick. I agree with you and not sure what you meant by saying - if Gina wants this?

2nd: apart from being an expert in understanding a particular activity such as a sport and such as a sport and such as motogp - people that do not understand the sport so well - will be attracted to it if it is exposed to them in a way - how rossi does it. Nobody is asking stoner to be the same nor is he guilty of making no mistakes on a ducati and suprisingly winning 2007..I dont dislike or particularly like the guy mainly as he doesnt share his passion with his fans, doesnt raise the consciousness of the sport to massess, that can reflect on ...cont.

...general understanding of bikes even in our daytime lives in daytime traffic. Id like to leave stoner as he is - there has to be guys like him too.
but comparing him to rossi and saying its rossi's end because stoner managed to hit his luck is funny...stoner will be only be comparable to rossi after he wins the championship on three different bikes: honda 2stroke, honda 4stroke and yamaha, and even then could he win 7 times?
almost 100% impossible.even on a ducati as it is now.
there are other greater talents than stoner - and even non-experts such as myself can see it clearly.
its funny how the cultural obligations work. strong - but THAT has nothing to do with the sport.. :)

Mick Doohan grabbed that bike like a lion grabbing hold of a prey, he was awesome.
I've seen him ride many times in anger, I was not a fan, the racing was predictable but damn brave ;)
I liked the fluent riding style of fast Freddie Spencer, outcome predictable too but beautiful :)
Or Kevin Schwantz, when riding he seemed to defy gravity... and a great personality on top of that :p

Ah Gina, till the end amusing if nothing else, did you mean to spell it Volgar or Vulgar? I really don't have the foggiest as to what you are trying to purvey on this forum but if you spend every waking moment slagging off a guy who won the world championship fair and square expect a little vitriol in return.

And yes Morgue, the greatest 500cc race ever to my mind was the Rainey, Schwantz, Doohan epic at Hockenheim, imagine pathetic little Danny trying to emulate what happened that day.

And yes I'm Australian to the core, the only thing that matters is finishing first, who gives a **** about general demeanour with the public. A racer is employed to win, not entertain the masses.
