2007 was a snorefest, I don't care if you cut and paste all the 'action' together into a compact television programme,
it still doesn't make it exciting. It was hours of hanging about and nosepicking and seeing a sport go to the dogs.
If you get off on consistency that's your right, I want to see racing. We are being led to believe that watching midgets on
electronically controlled downsized racers is the same as watching battles of heroes of a bygone era, like Schwantz and Rainey.

Can someone answer one question for me...
How on earth did this topic turn into a full on slagging match again!!!???? Am I the only person on here that wants a sensible discusion from moto gp fans from around the world and can appretiate there opinion(even if i dont agree with it!) without resorting to petty bitching.
Also why does it always turn into slagging rossi off? Why are you lot are so obsessed with him? I can understand the fans obsession but you rossi haters talk about him more than anybody! Dont forget Stoner beat 25 other riders in that feild, not just Rossi!!! In a few years time if stoner wins a few more champs will you start slagging him too???
Come on you lot chill out ;)

Wow, and i thought F1 fans were the obsessive weirdos.... :)

I hope stoner and rossi are both fit and on machinery befitting of their skill next season, with that and an improved honda machine; we will have one hell of a season. I hope things are sorted out with action packed sunday afternoons instead of whinging about tyres, bikes, the press and tax dodging side plots.

Merry Xmas MotoGp fans, March isn't far away now!

P.S. Come on Toseland!

morgue/gina etc are obviously very insecure with their constant low gibes at Stoner.... saying Stoner has to ride different bikes even with less performance is sure sign for their lame excuses of Rossi's lack of wins in 07 i.e. blame the bike!!! not the old clown.

Notice how they never have an educated answer for why no one else can ride the Ducati consistently quick as Stoner ;)

Racing was once based on the best rider and machine, irrespective of nationality.
Today, MotoGP is a hugely contrived event, driven by TV revenue from Italy and Spain.
The goal is to see Rossi win the championship, with a Spaniard giving him a run for his money and winning at least some races. This used to be Gibernau (with Italian Biaggi thrown in for amusement), now it is Pedrosa and probably Lorenzo too.
Make sure that the main protagonists have the very best machinery and superior tyres to everyone else, and Dorna can almost guarantee the results to suit themselves.
A couple of Americans thrown in because the US is an important bike market, then a token Brit, German, and French (even if they are no-hopers) to keep those local markets on-board and you have the circus that is MotoGP today.
This is the source of the 'slanging match' these threads constantly generate. On the one hand, 'fans' seeking reflected glory who attach to Rossi because he almost always wins (at least in the past) and who think he has a God given right to continue doing so and therefore rubbish anyone else who is better. And the rest who loath the type of people Rossi has attracted to the sport.
Thankfully though, the event can't be totally controlled and you get the curved balls that were Hayden winning in 2006 and Stoner in 2007 ... not in the Dorna plan at all but thank God it happened anyway.
As Chaz says, when Rossi does leave, there will be less revenue for Dorna, but hopefully MotoGP will return more to its roots and will be the better for it.

Wow Trigg, you make it sound even more boring than it already is...
Classically one sided and black and white too.
If you don't mind I'll stick with people like Mr Morphine and Nigel Tasker, protagonists of sense and reason :)

A racer is employed to win, not entertain the masses (Mick).

As a paying spectator I demand to be entertained
