Gabors achievement in '07 is massive,
Everything in his team was set to get Faubel to become champion, yet Talma ran away with it.
He was riding a '06 bike (unlike Hector) in a Spanish team and did it anyway.
His experience may get him another one, I don't know but riders like him and Lukas Pesek are important for the sport,
they come from countries without money but also racing tradition and passion.

Gabor signed a two year deal with Aspar in which he races 125 in '08 before moving up to 250 in '09. There only a certain amount of good kit and factory support available. Aspar had wanted to sign Bradley but his management were still holding out for a KTM Repsol deal and when that didn't seem to be appearing (waiting for KTM) then went with Polaris.

Thanks for your comments guys. I've only really got back into watching 125 and 250 racing this season so my knowledge of the riders is a little superficial at the moment.
I must say there was more drama in the final 125 race than there was in the whole motgp season, the tactical battle between Faubal and Talmasci was nail biting stuff.
I hope Talmasci gets a decent 250 ride in 2009 and see him continue his success.

its great to see an English rider on a decent bike.Usually they ride 2/3 year old bikes,so maybe Smith can open the door for some British talent to come through.
Hope Webb and the other boy progress well this year.
Does anyone think Smith will win a race this year??
Hope Smith will be practising his race starts, the first couple of laps of a race,he loses too many places on cold tyres.

I think Smith could definately win a race this year. He was constantly quick on the undeveloped Honda most of the year and his results don't tell the full story. I think the difference with this guy to most other Brit riders is that he got out of his comfort zone in the UK and moved abroad to push himself to another level (Stoner did the same and look what happenned to him). Alberto Puig wouldn't have taken him under his wing if he didn't think is was worth it.

People say that Scott Reading will be one to watch develop over the 2008 season, but Brad should win more than one race. No excuse this time, he has the bike, experience and a team that like the taste of Champagne. Should be a good season in the 125 class.
