Stoner with the #1 plate is questionable. Yes he deserves it for the truly incredible season that he had and should use it for the testing sessions, but having it for the 2008 season will make him look foolish as he will NOT win the championship, just ask Hayden.

They do it themselves, they are actually extremely good at it and also build swingarms for others like WSBK teams, i
one of the things they actually make money on ;)
Their Banbury outfit is called GP Motorsports UK

Thanks Ace27 and MORGUE (in alphabetical order) I knew they built accessories I wasn't sure if they did the whole chassis,,,,a big job a bigger job to get it right. What do you two experts think what will happen with Team Roberts for 2008 would they get more bang for their buck$ if they went to WSBK?????

For Wsbk they must produce a series of motorcycles, it's not a prototype class
they need homologation numbers.
They do know how to buid engines though and had plans to prodice streetbikes in the past

i can't see team kr getting two bikes on the grid next year and even if they do randy de puniet will probably take half the field out at the first corner anyway

Casey has every right to run #1 of course and I'd imagine that there would be tremendous PR pressure from Ducati to run with it too!

Barry's #7 strangely wasn't retired after his death but Kevin Schwantz's #34 was after he retired! (very odd) Could have something to do with Carlos Checa using #7 at the time but who knows...

If it wasn't for people like Kenny Roberts Snr getting of his **** and actually DOING something about smaller and smaller grids then where would the sport be? He recognises the problem and is trying to do something about it! Maybe one day we might have full grids of teams leasing only engines in their own chassis (like F1 to an extent) good onya KR!! :)

It's a real pity that the KTM partnership didn't work out for KR. As KTM are not interested in going Motogp racing (yet!) then there would be no clash of interests, in fact the R&D work would be more than useful to KTM for other future projects.

Perhaps KR snr could dig his old leathers out and show the youngsters a thing or two.

H&M - After 30,000 years of human evalution if that comment is the best you can contribute, then best give it up - the F1 forum is on the left of the screen. :)

hello matilda :).
this is purely about the number ( nothing to do with stoner ) on the bike and picture that we see when we open the topic: a smaller blue No 27 in a big blue No 1 : somehow plain and not really attractive. dont want to use the word " boring" because it may be associated wrongly.
i preferred the No. One that belonged to hayden: nice black with lots of little 69s in it :D original. and the one 27 in 1 like anybody could've thought of that and without any imagination...

Why was #34 retired? KS was a great rider but there's been plenty better before him and some better since. I just don't get it.....He probably wouldn't rate in the top 10 premier class riders in history, in no particular order......
