are we all so lobotomised in thinking that youth is all that counts ? Do artists have to stop painting, or making music just cos they are 28 ? Why can't riders saty for as long as they feel fit enough to do so ? isn't troy bayliss still able to kick most riders, even if aged 38 ? Didn't he win a MotoGP race at 36 ?
It's only the media circus that wants you to believe a champ is out when older than 26...

Right on Kowalski! I agree with you 100%. 5 more years from "The King" is great news! If MotoGP cuts down on the influence of electronics in the series, we'll see for sure who the real boss is! Keep in mind that a certain person crashed more in the 2006 season than all the other racers and all of a sudden that changed when he moved to a bike with excellent electronics. Hmmm... Electronics have took ALOT away from this sport and "Hopefully" the fact that Rossi is hanging around will help bring some sort of change in this department. Take TC off and throw it away! Let the riders prove to us all that it's their skill and not their bikes that make them the best in the world! GO GET'EM ROSSI!!!!

Another thing, is there anyone out there who honestly thinks Stoner could do as good as Rossi's done on the M1? I swear I'm not trying to make this a Rossi/Stoner debate. I'm just trying to say that Rossi is an asset to MotoGP and it has been his talent that has helped him to get where he is. It's not his fault that he gets blew by on straights(China) or that his engine or tires can't hold up to his aggressive riding style. He was one of the only people that could keep that Ducati honest through a good part of the season. The man is a fighter and it's shown constantly on and off the track and him staying 5 more years is even more proof of this.

To the ROSSI AKA "CLOWN", haters. The "CLOWN" sells more tickets, wherever he goes the "Audience" comes to see him. The headlines at 2007 Motegi, "3,000 MotoGP fans gathered in the Japanese capital's Shinjuku Square for a full day of MotoGP activity". Guess who they came and cheered for. This " CLOWN" alone makes all the others get a respectable pay. BOW TO THE CLOWN, he has carried the sport single handedly in his era. It will be a long time before another "CLOWN" can come rescue this sport when he retires. I don't envision the all RED, NO 1 Plate, wannabe, whose draw is an Island down yonder, to even come close. So a special THANK YOU MR. CLOWN MAN!! For you make it EXCITING, to await 2008

Laterrus/Morgue,
good comments, especialy yours Laterrus, let's call it how it is.

The Rossi haters on here hate this news & are simply jealous, they simply can't bear the thought of Rossi winning yet another WC, well you guys looks like your gonna be sick of him because you all know that whilst he remains in motogp it drasticaly reduces the chances of any other rider winnin g the championship.

Yes he's had 2 bad years & still come second & third in the champoinship respectivley.

The decision to switch tyres is brave but in my opinion will turn out to be a good move, yet another reason why anyone who's nmot a rossi fan has to be worried.

Roll on next year.

Dray,
here, here :) :)

I would'nt mind betting on atleast another 2 titles to Mr Rossi.

I'm sure he's out to prove a point & if this years bike's right I beleive there is going to be some major *** kicking.

I would also agree with a certain Mr Pedrosa as being his closest rival again this year but not for second place!

Omg! Morgue Morgue, I was reading what you said about Rossi's statements being Golden and it got me to looking for the quote you stated here so, I could read where he said it and I found the article on MCN's site that he said it in and I tripped out because I had NO idea that he had slammed electronics lately. I knew he's not a fan of them but, I didn't know that he had said anything publicly on them lately. I was just stating my thoughts here today and turns out, "some" of my thoughts are similar to that of Rossi's and others here. It was just a little strange I guess for me. Seems like most of us race fans are on the same page with electronics needing to go.

And alas the clown groupies final stand and attempt to circle the chuck wagons one last time, try as they might with all their voodoo chanting, spitting tactics and cursing of the young Aussie upstart #1 plate holder the faint clown worship wimpers still go unanswered..... ;)

ISome people seem to think bike racing did not exist before the clown? 50% of sale tickets give me a brake youngling! Hey I guess that sums up groupie mentality though :?

Marty,Do you believe that 2008 will be even more boring than 2007 watching the No1 "Wizard of Oz" ride off into the distance on the Beast or should "The Wizard" just play with the kids for the sake of good Tv??? You have to addmitt last year was like watching a greyhound race with the hare clearing out and and the field just running along behind knowing there was no chance of catching him and 50% of the crowd demanding it a no race. Perhaps for the good of the sport and 50% of the followers Racey Casey should be made to use traction control in 2008.

Upside down in the graveltraps would be my guess Morgue. He'd have to get up reeeal early to be able to do controlled slides like the slide king of Scotland! LOL! I watched a 60 minutes special here in the U.S. on Casey Stoner and he's actually a likeable guy. He talked about how he didn't have many friends growing up, ETC... It almost makes you feel bad for him as a kid and it makes it hard to bash him now but, the truth is the truth, Rossi is just flat-out a better rider and if it wasnt for the electronics, Stoner wouldn't have had a chance this year. He took advantage of what he had this year and I can't blame him at all for that but, take away his obvious advantage and Rossi is #1.
