are we all so lobotomised in thinking that youth is all that counts ? Do artists have to stop painting, or making music just cos they are 28 ? Why can't riders saty for as long as they feel fit enough to do so ? isn't troy bayliss still able to kick most riders, even if aged 38 ? Didn't he win a MotoGP race at 36 ?
It's only the media circus that wants you to believe a champ is out when older than 26...

I could be way off base here.....I believe that if you took away traction control completely, you would have slower lap times and bikes that could not be ridden.

So you have deified him over the past decade. Now you may worship him for another half a decade. You're such a pitiful lot.

This is very good news for all us Vale fans. The sport needs people like Valenetino Rossi, he put the fun and entertainment back in bike racing big time (even though bike racing has always been entertaining)
Ever since the day Valentino rossi got on to a 125, 250, 500, 990 and now 800cc machine and stamped his authority on the track and top step of the podium, it made people look and notice how much a talented rider he really is!
I hope he wins more world titles before retiring from bike racing, weather he will put his feet up afterwards or go to rallying, only Vale will know!
We have been robbed of good sports man/women in the past, i just hope he lives to retire!
Rossi the best!

jh;glad you liked the clip BUT actually the left food skims the ground and moves backwards and forwards to give different balance & traction it doesn't hold the bike up, you do see MotoGp riders kick their leg off the footpeg when they come into a corner too fast this to get the bike over and get the bike on line.Speedway after WW2 would attract 100,000 crowd to Wembeley for the "World Championship Final" of course Australia has had it's share of Speedway "World Champions" the lastest being Jason Crump 2005 if you,Youtube Janson Crump(speedway) there is some video of him.
MORGUE I have seen footage of Stoner on dirt as a kid (ears and all)it was in private hands nothing public I know of.

MORGUE MORGUE no not senstive about the ear bit,if I were offended I would have said so the ear bit in brackets was what us Aussie's call digs it's a kinda off beat sense of humour,Aussie Humour is accross between and Irishman and a Yorkshireman I hope you can figure that out
The link you sent of Gold Coast Dirt Track is what Stoner cut his teeth on,it's kinda a road race on dirt there are bigger and faster tracks you may see why sliding the rear wheel wouldn't worry Stoner, the link you sent were of kids,on high reving short stroke bikes most of the Seniors have long stroke torquey bikes and are rather fast, being dirt in the sunlight the track changes every lap reading a track is important

cont MORGUE MORGUE, it goes to show what living in isolation from the rest of the world does for us Aussies, I thought every nation/country had this type of dirt tracking racing?????

Hi Lee yes lap times will become slower but the rider will actually be controlling the power of the bike ,also the rider and his team will be setting the bike up so it can be riden without any aids (traction control)this is what Valentino Rossi is the best at doing and this ability of his has been taken away .This is the reason y others are now able to run with him this is not there ability but the ability of the computer pack.

MORGUE MORGUE Dirt track speedway turn left only, Dirt Track like the link turn left and right tracks can be up to one and half miles per lap same as tarmac racing only on dirt,,,,MORGUE I think you best come to the land of OZ and see how many types of motor bike racing we have but be assured all the Aussie's in MotoGp would have tried them all.

Hey there SLOW, I know it's taken some of ( or most of )the sport out of the racing. But with the power the current bikes produce, you would be seeing half throttle racing. It takes traction control just to keep the bike from flipping on it's *** down the main straights. With everything I have said here, I do wish for it to be back to basics. 2 strokes again!
