It needs to be done , the sport needs to return to the skill of the rider and not the skills of the electronics department to master the machine . Maybe a standard ecu is not the answer , but a ban on all electronic rider aids would be (traction control , anti-wheely ect ).Mr Ezpeleta is right to say this , otherwise we are going to end up with a show like F1 or no show in there case . MOTOGP » Control electronics?

MotoGP may have narrowly avoided the introduction of a control tyre rule for 2008, but Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has revealed that 'control electronics' could be on the horizon.

There's no chance of this getting past the manufacturers. Not that it doesn't need doing.

Saltbrush. What percentage commission are you on? I bet the Rossi fan club would double it ;) It's always best keep the bottom well fenced.

Thanks The Morgue. Cash net went straight over my head. I never was the sharpest tool in the box.

The lap counter must be a relatively simple bit of kit. I'm sure the others could develop a similar device fairly quickly.

Who here remembers when Italian electrics/onics were a complete joke. The worm has turned.

oww yes, the Guzzis and the old Ducs were probably only upstaged by the British bikes in that department...
Maybe some Japanese explained them that it's better to clean up the shop and buy new solder?

Colin Edwards said it best when commenting on Schumacher's Ducati run. Basically, any decent pilot can get close with the available electronics, but it takes a great rider to get that last few tenths it takes to win races. I am not in favor of standard ECU's and I'm less in favor of TC and all the rest. Take it all off. Let the engineers build the bikes their riders can handle, and let the riders prove their mettle by knowing when to take the measured chances necessary to win.

jh;cannot do the Rossi fan club motivation gig there would a conflict on interests as I have just signed on to manage Michelle Smith's carreer, I will be working on 1% of her total earning for 2008, therefore I will running 3 full MotoGp bikes in 2009, I also may dabble in F1 if I can get McClaren at the right price.
Yep you have to watch the hens in heavy rain, they can turn into Emu's and kick the fences down.I hope Michelle kept you entertained she is won in a million.
jh;personal question are you from Yorkshire originally that wouldn't be giving tooooo much away,(I just thought I could recognize your accent) if it is just no reply.

What bikes will you run then, Loncin's?
Better make sure you're sufficiently stocked with tie-wraps and ducttape then,
we don't want your fenders and exhaust parts littering the track causing red flags all season.

The Morgue FYI I will be running the winning bikes, are you available to ride in 2009 I would like to get the top riders sorted early for the team before they get snapped up by an inferior mob,(of course your salary demands are of no concern if you want the best you have to pay the best)if I build a reinforced deviding wall how do you feel about Ace27 as a team mate. The racing tape used will be colour co-ordinated to match the livery and very sticky,in fact I have been thinking of running the tape around the circumference of the rear tire in place of launch control the thought has also crossed my mind extra sticky tape on the seat could be the way to go instead of traction control.

I say do it. I don''t like this in line, non tire smoking braking duel in every corner. I liked it a lot more when the TC didn''t play such a role

The bottom line is that not many people respect the past two champions. The powers that be don't appreciate them one bit. One holds on until the last race and does little or nothing spectacular or impressive during the year (two wins-one at his home race and one after the other dumbass acts like a club racer at the last corner)and the other benifits from the rules changes and starts most of the year with a massive advantage in horsepower and gizmos(No I will not give him credit. He spent most of 06 sliding on his head and he had one good fight in Spain when he always passed on the straight or after Rossi had to brake like a madman. Save it Casy fans).
Rider skill and close racing. The End.
