Raikkonen looks more like a very unhappy firefighter with erection problems :p
I''ve never seen someone so unemotional after winning a worldtitle, like it was just another day at the office, amazing.

If the Jap Corps weren't as arrogant im sure they would be doing the same when it comes to sharing info with the likes of Toyota etc.

I dont think they "shared", If I remember properly there was somthing like a $50M payment involved......but yeah i get what your saying.
Personaly I think Ducati have benefited from Ferrari data curtesy of Magnetti Marelli.

These exchanges are probably never free...
Yamaha build engines for Toyota, Ford as well as F1 (not very successfully)
The M1 changed from 5 to 4-valves in 2004, giving it more bottom power (or so they say)
while the reduction in mass probably enables it to rev higher.

Tsk! Tsk! innaccurate person. To increase the rev-ceiling you would have to reduce 'reciprocating mass'. The valve is not part of this reciprocating mass and would have no impact purely in terms of mass.

It was deminishing returns having 5 valves, the more things that have to move in an engine create friction, IE valve to valve guide, cam to valve tip or shim, assuming ohc, another valve spring to compress, more with rockers and more again with pushrods.

Cheers.

You as right about the mass, the valve is in theory a thing that is 'free floating' thought it has to be pushed open against the force of the spring. with 5 valve you have an extra cam too that is though smaller in size still using power and creating friction.
