OK lets put this in perspective, he's fractured a tiny bone in his hand, hardly a broken pelvis is it? And what does he do - catches the first flight home to mamma! Could you really see someone like Schwantz or Doohan copping out over a scratch. He's payed a shed full of dosh to take it, injuries go with the territory. He should have taken some pain killers and seen a doc after the tests. Total effing wimp IMO!

exactly M M - not only that it will look like nothing ever happened, but the newest scientific research suggests that the bone callus ( brand new formed bone tissue - )if active or placed under mild stress, which the plate will help withstand it - remodels the bone into a physiologically stronger contour - and this applies specifically for small sized bones such as metacarpals or metatarsals ( not large bones )- so M M - my impression is that that hand in particular is going to do some mean business ;)

May I also underline the importance of the right hand to a motorcycle racer,
he has to grip the handlebars, adjust the throttle and activate the front brakes,
arguably the most agressive brakes on the planet apart from those of a F1 car.
He has to be able to do this as gentle and well-timed as possible.
Logical choice to take the best surgery available from a surgeon he knows.

O, and Dani Pedrosa came back from a crash in which he broke both ankles to become WC (again),

Another report just in from the hospital. After extensive tests and scans doctors are now pleased to announce that they expect him to reach puberty some time in the next 6 months. :)

Nice work Conchita !

I heard they are going to forcibly alter Dani's face into a permanent smile at the request of HRC.

Also heard that he won't smile with his braces on, but the surgery will correct this.

HTH.

The specialist that operated him Dr. Xavier Mir says it may take up to six weeks for him to regain full fitness,he may miss the rest of testing and be there just in time for the Qatar race...

M M nobody "wins" a test and no points are handed out, but points are handed out at the end of a race and the most points wins a championship. :)

So missing a test is'nt so bad, missing a race could be the difference between a WC and nothing.

Then again for Dani PI is ultra important because he needs all the help he can get their, Dani is the only rider from all classses to frawn on PI, too much bad luck and I think PI is really hard him physicly.
