MOTOGP » Rossi raises pace with pneumatic engine

Valentino Rossi continued work on Yamaha's rejuvenated pneumatic-valve project during day two at Sepang - which he finished in a promising third position, on a race tyre, having lapped just 0.298secs from Randy de Puniet's qualifying run.

I agree Morgue! Rossi is showing great progress on Bridgestones! I hope it's a steady incline from here for him! I'm not sweating the whole RDP being faster either. If he can stay that fast "in a race" then maybe we should worry. It seems that Rossi likes to come from a few places down to take the victory anyway. Maybe tomorrow will be his best day!

It is gutting that the 2008 R1 is so ugly, Yamaha should replicate the lines and the method of air induction of the M1 on the R1.

RDP used a qualifing tyre according to MCN and JT had a lot of chatter on old spec electronics, he will use what CE had today tomorrow.

Gina - the third pic is of *****hay, Jorge Lorenzo. It's #45, not #46. It's hard to see the difference in the small pictures. I'm not sure if that helmet design is new or not as I don't follow 250. The helmet Rossi is using is the aborigine (sp??) design that he had started using part way through the season.

At any rate, one of the reasons given for Colin not running the #45 when he switched from Honda to Yamaha was because he thought it'd look too confusing on track with #46 and #45. I guess he was right!!! :)
