Well, at least he knows what direction they are going to..
(concerning the development of the M1)
Yamaha did a smart move to contract Jorge, they consider him as a potential WC.
They said that 2009 will be his year, so how does this place Valentino??

I guess 2008 will decide what happens in 2009 for all the riders

Dude, Rossi aint riden for Yamaha next year...he's already put the call out for a new ride. Just becuase he shows up this year and says he wants to continue with Yamaha is total PR BS for his bad mouthing Yamaha last year.

Ace27: are you really sure about Vale looking for a new ride? Bad mouthing Yamaha last year?

Anyhow, seems very strange that Yamaha will miss PI?

Well, going off Rossi's rants last year, he put it out there he will leave Yamaha if they dont bring a cometitive bike for him, competitive means if he cant win a WC he's outta there for a bike that can, say a Ducati or Honda. Rossi has given himself 5 more years in the sport. So, he can change bikes and give himself at least 2 years to win a WC.

Yes, he'll be looking for a new ride. While he's currently 'stuck' with yamaha, he'd do good to pacify them after the gibe about deserting them last year. He's just playing smart. He needs to ensure that the team works for him while he's still around. I think he may plead with honda to take him back when hayden is disposed of. Ducati may not be likely after seeing melandri's debacle in the tests so far.

Yeah don't forget how the Duc's such a good bike compared to the rest of them there sheds on wheels... I mean just look at Melandri's transformation - he's just rocketed to the front of the grid - just like V.Lossi would have done - not!!! :-o

Credit to Stoner is really due folks.

Rossi haters (i.e. Stoner lovers) are so quick to count him out and also quick to condemn other Ducati riders. But ye Stoner fans forget how quickly Ducati abandons their non-performing riders. Case in point, last year once Capirossi didn't get a handle on the new 800 and Stoner did it's obvious that all the development went the way of crybaby Stoner. How many times did Stoner's bike fail on him, oh that's right none! Now that Melandri is taking time to get use to his new bike the Stoner fans are so quick to complain. Don't count out Melandri he'll get use to the bike built around Stoner and will eventually be fighting for the lead.

Built around stoner? If i remember correctly Stoner was just the #2 rider in the beginning of the last season. And the 2008 Ducati is just an evolution of the bike of the last season. All that "bike built around a rider" stuff is pretty much overrated anyway...
