Arrogant little ****. :-o Methinks he listens to Uncle Alberto too much... who has been a MotoGP World Champion? And who hasn''t, even with a tailor-made 800cc series?

True team Green,
but I'm also with M M on this one, he is telling the truth. He (and Puig for that matter) are not known for being tactical in the press (Puig once stated 'I don't give a **** about the sponsor, very unwise) but you can't call them stupid.
You are dealing with a 2008 World Championship contender, can you say the same about Hayden?
I like Nicky much more as a person but that's not the point here.

I don't think Puig is stupid. This guy has steered Pedrosa to three world championships, steered Stoner in the right direction to his championship and steered Bradders to be a potential world champion (fastest of all 125 last week). All this and more. Stupid he aint.

I like Dani and I'm not Spanish.

Hi Moemoe_ZR, so you don't think Dani saying
"he has not been very beneficial when he has had that responsibility in the past."
Isn't a slight on Nicky Hayden's abilitites?
It's a bit like saying "I wouldn't want to leave my kids with him to babysit 'cos he's not been very good every other time I've left him with them." Don't you think? :?

He's a cheeky little git, whether or not he actually believes this to be true he should shut it and get on with his own work. Nicky Hayden nearly lost a world championship because of his crash at Estoril and you didn't hear Nicky Hayden blast him for it!
Just how do you develope a bike built for an 8 stone monkey anyway? Nicky's gettin shafted here!

He did say this , last week.
Dani doesnt care about poloitics. he speaks his mind. Nicky has been there 5 years or 6. Dani kicked his *** in his second season. last year, Nicky ended up using the stuff Dani developed. Dani couldnt use the stuff Nicky chose. Nicky is a great guy and a world champ, but at this point, Dani is faster and better at seting up and developing a bike. That s just how it is. Not a nice statement, but true.

Who cares - Why should he play mindgames to Nicky when he outscored him last year by what , a 100 points? You have no clue, sir. Since when a fast rider has to be a nice guy?

Just when I was beginning to not hate the guy so much he opens his mouth and says what he said...

As has been pointed out, the 2007 RC212 was built with ONE rider in mind - Pedrosa. All the others were expected to just get on with it. The results were no surprise, really.

To say that Nicky can't develop a bike is to deny that the 2006 bike he rode to the championship was also a bike that he had to develop while he raced it. That was Honda's call, Nick wanted to race the bike that Pedrosa was given to ride instead of the lab bike. His results enroute to winning his championship would have been a hell of a lot better, I believe, if he had actually had a clutch that worked.

link to the story on motogp.com:

(and scroll down to 'pedrosa holds post-surgery press conference').

Even the usually scared-to-offend motogp.com calls it a barbed comment!

Morgue, I'm not denying that Dani doesn;t beleive what he said is true - but it's still dumb because does he really think Hayden's side of the pit is going to do him any favours (in terms of data sharing, tyre/suspension and set-up knowledge) with comments like that?

Honda is up against it with its new bike/engine as it is, now the team-mates will probably barely be talking to each other when dani gets back...

And furthermore, it seems logical that Pedrosa wouldn't want Hayden to develop the bike. Their sizes and styles are completely different.

Those who pointed out that Pedrosa is mimicking Puig are most likely correct given the comments Puig made after Pedrosa nearly scuttled Hayden's championship in '06. I still think Earl should have stuck Puig's head in a toilet for that.

Honestly, I think that Pedrosa would treat any teammate the same. He's just lucky he's got somebody as level-headed as Hayden for a teammate.

I hope Pedrosa heals quickly, I can't wait for the season to start.
