Arrogant little ****. :-o Methinks he listens to Uncle Alberto too much... who has been a MotoGP World Champion? And who hasn''t, even with a tailor-made 800cc series?

Well Danny boy, the fact is that Nicky actually has developed a bike that actually won a world championship. You can't win one with a series Taylor made for you and a bike that was also specifically designed for you. Facts are facts.

I partially agree with you Dirk,
In a post 2006 interview with Mamola Hayden stated that he had the choice between the bike Pedrosa rode or the proto with the faulty clutchmounting and he chose to ride the proto himself because it was more 'exciting'. I was amazed that they went ahead with it as it was the last year of the 990's and they were going to switch to a V4 in 2007 anyway. Maybe Honda just want to prove they can do it, like with oter projects (the oval piston 500 for instance). Call it arrogance or whatever.
The Pedrosa-Puig combine is said to be very much a seperate entity within the HRC team, not the same as for instance Rossi/Edwards were.

I'm for once did not agree Nicky Hayden is not a good development rider. The season he actually develop the RC211V (2006), Honda was 1 kmh faster than Ducati at Mugello.

The bike he had developed, mostly consistent in all tracks. Yes, it's not an amazing bike, but enough to win the title and put Rossi into serious pressure losing the title.

If that not a good development rider, I do not know what else you use to scale a good development rider with.

With bike that developed by the midget, Nicky still ahead of Dani in one or two places. At least Hayden as good as the other top riders.

If you can't accept he beat Rossi, it's fine. But, he is actually above the rest who are not win a title.

It's true that dani outscored Hayden by a large margin last season, but let's be fair about that.. How many races was Hayden taken out of by another rider last season? I can think of three right now. Then there were mechanical failures like in Philip Island. Yes, he crashed out in the rain in Donington while pushing hard, but last year, his luck mirrored Rossi's in 2006. Thru all that, he never bashed HRC or the sponsors. He echoed some of the sentiment regarding Michelin at times, but kept the negativity to a minimum.

The RC212v was Pedrosa's to develop last season. How many races did he win on HIS bike? ONE. Lagging on your own teammate shows an utter lack of class.

It doesn't matter how much you win, you still a douche if you rag on your team mate. The angry smurf is not a team player and he is arrogant and conceited just like his mentor. I don't know who in the paddock would want Pedrosa as a team mate regardless of how good he thinks he is. Just ask Biaggi how far his wins took him with his arrogant attitude.

It kills me how the arm chair critics on this site bash Hayden when hes still better then 3/4 of the riders in the paddock. Even when Honda screwed him in 06 with the "project" bike he still managed to be consistent and win the title. Not to mention being screwed again in 07 after being handed the "Pedrosa" bike.

and Michelin dropping the ball with the crappy tires. All you ever read is how "lucky" Nicky was in 06, and undeserving he is. But people never make mention of the struggles hes had with lack of support from Honda and his stand up character he has consistently maintained.

Perdosa is a douche and a arrogant prick, and i hope Nicky jacks him up like he did to Biaggi in 05. Nicky needs to wake up and leave HRC and give Dani his butt to kiss and go to a factory that will respect him and treat him like the champ he is and not play second fiddle to a jerk like Pedrosa.

Colin played second fiddle to Rossi but Rossi and Yamaha still treated him with class and respect.

j h. What race did Pedrosa win aside from Valencia? I don't doubt, I just don't recall either. Regardless. The point remains. If Pedrosa wants to attack his teammate, he only injures himself. By that I mean he presents himself not as a gentleman, but a little boy. If he has anything to be disappointed with, it is his own error which caused the crash in question. Oh yeah, it was the bike. Dani is perfect. Nicky will crush him this season. So will Rossi and Stoner.

Hey Ducman. I like Hayden, I never bash him. I just thought is was funny that the self proclaimed "fan of the sport" forgot how many races Dani won last year. Ironic eh?

Germany wasn't it? Don't have any stats to hand. Dani Cleared off by about 12 seconds. I repeat, I like Nicky I actually have stated I think he rode better in 2007 than in 2006. He has made his bed though, don't forget he was offered Stoners' ride for 2007 but stuck with Honda despite being treated like a second class citizen in 2006 even though he gave them their title. :)
