Doesn't sound like something JB would say. Does anyone have a link to the interview where he made these comments - I mean 'Carlos from Angola' sounds a bit dodgy don't you think?

MOTOGP » Edwards, Stoner star at Phillip Island

Colin Edwards continued his impressive 2008 form during the first day of testing at Phillip Island on Wednesday, where the Yamaha Tech 3 rider used a qualifying tyre to lead Ducati's Casey Stoner by 0.6secs at the MotoGP world champion's home track.

I recall reading in 2007 that Stoner's father got ducati to turn all of their eloctronics of and let Casey tell them what he needed. They were pretty relucant to do so but they did and in the end I guess it worked.

Yes I heard the same. Stoner's seat of the pants feel told Ducati that their computer designed setup may have initially been taking them in the wrong direction. Why does Suppo often refer to Stoner as a genius? Quite clearly Stoner and Ducati are a perfect match. Look at Stoner's lap times he always seems to get the best lap times for a given setup within only a handful of laps and as such normally puts in less laps than almost all competitors on a day. Genius? Maybe!!!

CA. Stoner tested today with his electronics of as well. He was the only one exiting the corners smoothly. The others were (I think the term is called) "chattering". Clouds early tomorrow but fine for the rest of the daty!!!

SW..Unlike F1 where because of the aero effect the difference between a good driver and an average driver can be very little in the same package with MotoGP even with "electronic aids" the rider still has a sizable input to overall performance due to the lack of aero and relative high centre of gravity and thus the ability of a rider to change balance simply by moving their body mass. To me Stoner seems to straight line corners as much as possible by stepping out the rear on entry and getting on the throttle as soon as possible which could also mask any low end performance of a peaky engine. Hopefully you will see a rain free day at PI tomorrow.

Brilliant Casey !!

The battler Aussie kid has and is making everyone look very ordinary, and riding a bike from a miniscule manufacturer compared to the Japanese factories.

The Stoner detractors had better start thinking about this years excuses, but im sure they will rehash all this years carp . Rossi shouldn't have gone to bridgstone,Pedrosa missed some preseason tests,Hayden cant develop the bike, Stoner has the best TC..blah blah blah.
