..Who crashes more? Seems to me that Hayden is willing to push the bike to it's limit. Not beyond it. That leads to a trip to the hospital, and to time lost testing and developing, due to rider stupidity. Stupidity that is later proved with asinine remarks about "being worried..."...

Dani should join Maxi in WSBK where it's safer for runner up MotoGP riders. They would be awesome teammates. Same size, same attitude, same accountability. Except Maxi would break Dani in half if he made a comment like that about him. So much for safer.

Im not a Dani fan and im not saying Dani Pedboy is a class act, but he is a better rider than Hayden and you want see Hayden win another championship ever!

After being screwed yet again by Honda and Dani its good to see Nicky getting a fair shake for a change. One of the provisions in Nicky's 2yr contract extension was "equal treatment" after the 06 season fiasco where he was on the "test" bike and Dani had the production bike. Even then Nicky still managed to win the title.

Its obvious that Honda has no faith in Nicky even after he gave them a championship. And their still putting all their eggs into the angry smurf. This is his last year and i hope he goes to a team that will appreciate him next season. Ben Spies is coming in 09 with Yoshimura Suzuki and Kevin Schwantz, Nicky would make a awesome team mate with a factory Suzuki ride.

It will be hard to leave Honda and its phenomonal backing (funds, engineers, experience etc). I can most definently see Hayden, Schwantz and Spies together on a team (that would be incredible!!!)...lots of racing experience, but hardly any "team" experience. I think the next couple of years Hayden will want to be on a team that is right there for top contention, not in a building phase - which makes Honda a good fit for him (despite all the Pedrobot and team tension talk).

I think that where it needs to change for Hayden & Honda is HRC involvment - Honda should have a straight Honda factory team like the moto/supercross teams do...none of this Spanish based HRC biased bull****.

I agree it would be hard to leave Honda but Nicky would also be putting the "red headed step child" treatment behind him. At his level respect is more important then money. Hes a multi millionaire already. At this rate its worth the move.

Lets not forget that Spies & Schwantz is not going to settle for some uncompetitive team like the Alice or Team Roberts. They will be a fully funded & supported factory team from Suzuki just like Rizla. Yoshimura is a powerful force in racing and they wont put their name and rep on anything less then the best.

Besides a Spies/Hayden Suzuki team would be a strong American threat in the series.

I would love to see that come to pass.

It would be an exciting combination for sure, watching Spies riding that Suzuki was great, fantastic riding style.
But don't you think chances are that it eould be a single rider outfi instead of two? Suzuki and Kawasaki asked Dorna to be allowed to run 1 extra bike in 2009

OK, if we're going to get all speculative and junk…here's a few likely scenarios:

Case 1 - Dani win's MotoGP world championship in 2008.
He and Puiggy kiss, declare mutual and unwavering love for each other, get married and live happily ever after…until Dani loses the championship again. But they stay with Repsol in 2009.

Hayden moves to a manufacturer for 2009 that will appreciate him and support him more than Honda, which would be virtually any other team (and I concur - it would be cool to see a Spies/Hayden/Shwantz/Suzuki partnership).

Case 2 - Dani boy finishes 2nd or below in 2008.
He cries and leaves Repsol for someone who will truly appreciate him and Puiggy for their god like talents. Honda regrets making little tailor made minibikes for them.

Nicky stays with Repsol and get's a real, life size teammate. Out from under little, tiny Dani's big, evil, dark shadow, Honda develops a bike for 2009 that suits Nicky and the rest of their satellite teams. Honda attempts to resume their world domination which they squandered by throwing all their might behind a bitter little boy and his puppet master. They'll need to catch the Ducs though. Looks like a tall order.
