i laugh every time someone mention banning electronics in motorsport.

firstly, electronics are there for all the rides; melandri is on the same bike and is struggling (which to be completely honest has really surprised me). the playing field is level.

secondly, it's like the argument in F1 where people argue that in the 60-70's where we had 4 wheel drift, powerslides etc that the racing was more exciting, and that electronics are to blame. technology moves forward and Dorna/F1 would be sticking their heads in the sand if they didn't embrace these new technologies.

the bottom line is: anything that makes lap times lower is progress. the best riders/drivers will always rise to the top.

From 2005 and 2006 I remember how proud Rossi and Yamaha were of their TC and engine mapping systems. The clever systems had different settings for all parts of the race, making it possible for Rossi to do well with shagged tires at the end of the race and thus beat his rivals in the 2nd half of the race.
Bunch of hypocrites.

My take – no big surprises at this test.

Stoner continues to dominate regardless of tire envy, traction control, manufacturer, throttle control, weather and all other variables. He's got talent and an unrivaled package. Honda continues to struggle with correcting last year's wrongs. Good to see JT and Edwards competitive and some of the new kids holding their own. OK, Rossi wasn't there – his choice. He'll have a chance to step up next week. Dani wasn't there but that's his fault (heard someone mention natural selection). Can't ride fast without a note from your doctor. That's a rule (just don't tell Mick Doohan!).

I'm not seeing the big surprise with West. Biggest disappointment in my opinion is CapiRex. Melandri a close second in the disappointment category. Sure they are on new machinery but nobody has a bigger learning curve than JT at the moment and he's shredding. No excuses for the formerly fast veterans. I'd like to see them step it up to make this season a bit more stimulating.

Nice work Sasha...top DJ too :)

And so it came to pass, that on the 8th day god created Holland. A country whose sole purpose was that of being somewhere convenient for the Germans to park their tanks while they found some credible opposition...

Sasha didn't Colin Edwards his team mate have the same technology as Rossi? Where did he finish in the championship? I'd say it really comes down to the way Rossi conserves his tyres and the confidence he has on worn tyres towards the end of a race.

Rossi also has good communication with his mechanics they understand his needs and set the bike up accordingly, I think what many have overlooked in Stoners case is that he has matured as an all round rider being able to communicate what he needs from his bike to his mechanics in oredr to win races.

Stoner - yawn - wake me up when the battery goes flat on the electronic engine management/traction control/deaf aid/heart pacemaker/nodding dog. If this is motorcycle racing then it's fishing for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I sit here in my workshop with the 1984 TZ250L hoping that this silly technological age is all a bad dream.
There is NO room in this sport for all this electronic rubbish, it's nothing to do with safety, it's doing what technology is capable of and satisfying the boffins' ego it, like bloody four strokes, is killing the sport.
Come back Lenny Robot. :?
