i laugh every time someone mention banning electronics in motorsport.

firstly, electronics are there for all the rides; melandri is on the same bike and is struggling (which to be completely honest has really surprised me). the playing field is level.

secondly, it's like the argument in F1 where people argue that in the 60-70's where we had 4 wheel drift, powerslides etc that the racing was more exciting, and that electronics are to blame. technology moves forward and Dorna/F1 would be sticking their heads in the sand if they didn't embrace these new technologies.

the bottom line is: anything that makes lap times lower is progress. the best riders/drivers will always rise to the top.

Old dude on satellite team smokes the Doctor, the Kentucky Kid and a young prodigy for world championship on inferior French rubber.

CrashNet, you can use this headline if you want in the unlikely case that Colin and his Texas Tornado flatten the MotoGP field. ;)

I guarantee Pedrosa doesn't sleep well regardless of what Stoner does. The dude lives a bitter life. Nightmares of taking out his teammate, looping his Honda on practice starts, prototype burning to the gravel on the first day of practice. Sucks to be him. Of course, I think you're right, Slow, I'm sure Stoner doesn't help his beauty rest either. ;)

Rejoice all ye Ducati fans... But where were Melandri, Elias and Guintoli ? Back of the pack. Sad. Will Marco pick up the pace? Undoubtedly. Is he consistent enough to challenge for the MotoGP World Championship? Probably not this year. As for the Alice D''Antin Ducatis, last year they were the same spec. as Stoner & Capirossi''s bikes and did well at a few tracks. Budget may have been that team''s weakness. As for the electronics debate: Suzuki was using electronics to control the explosive power of its 500s when Schwantz was racing. Used throttle position, rate of throttle opening, wheel speed and gear position sensors to alter ignition timing in lower three gears... OK!

What a smashing record...Also nice to see J.T. is closing in..
Just returned from a motorfair in a place called Utrecht where also Casey's 2007 bike was present next to the desmosedici RR, this bike is in real more desirable than I excpected it to be...(lets keep on dreaming)

I also must say that Elias has done a major improvement on his time, can't wait to see him perform when he is fully recovered..(nice color that alice bike)

Marco Melandri is the most inconsistant rider there, His nick name in the paddock is Rondom Number Selecter???
I will be surprised if he wins anything at all, too inconsistant, one day he's 3rd the next he's 7th.
Dont make the maistake of thinking the Ducati is as easy to ride as the Honda...far from it. It will be more difficult for him this year, thats just how it is.

Going back to the first page and answering the question. I was referring to reports from people who were there at PI. They indicated that Stoners bike was not spluttering as if TC was cutting in like all the others were. As all of the anti-Stoner people keep suggesting that he just twists the throttle on full and lets the electronics do it all, in this case it doesn't seem to be so. As far as your quote from a website that doesn't let you copy a link????? It doesn't say that he doesn't want electronics removed. It says that they are needed. Let Rossi ride an 800 (20,000rpm) without TC at anything like race pace and if he survives then lets drop TC until then sit back and just enjoy.

And always start a new sentence with a capital letter, and don't use a comma before "but"...

Dear Learn to write,
I think you will find that it is 'but I am so tired of the way you people from England construct sentences' and not 'but am so tired of the way.....' the former is Queens English the later is estuary English as proliferated by the unwashed and uneducated. Please don't take offence. We educated English are always willing to help Johnny foreigner speak the Queens English. Just liik waat I doo. Kindest regards, Charles.

Looking at Stoner's times, Rossi must be thinking, "Goodbye Yamaha, come 2009 ..." Lol
