Why do the factories spend millions of dollars on R&D when they could employ Ace, the man with the solution to every technical problem. The other day he was telling Suzuki how to improve the handling of Vermuelens bike and now he's pointing Kawasaki in the right direction. Hey what do these Japanese engineers know - they've only been building race bikes 50 years so they haven't yet built up the same level of technical expertise and experience as Ace. Time to step into the motogp paddock Ace and claim your rightfull position as the new technical guru...Jerry Burgess watch out!! ;)

West, last year, when he joined Kawasaki said he needed to sort out his fitness and he''s still using the same excuse.
He''s the luckiest rider to get a factory ride.
Kick him out to where he belongs,Supersport, and put a proper racer on the Green Machine, like Toseland

While West is quite amazing on the wet (but still can't reach the finish line...)
I don't think he is good enough for a factory bike, unless Jawa or such a company will run a factory team. He is for sure a guy that can be on
a non factory bike and give some nice rides and maybe some wins on the wet.

I think that Toseland is on a better bike now, and he is at a
European team which is much better than being in a cold and sterile
Japanese team.

Hmmmm. Not many Aussies coming out to support their Countryman. Looks like they prefer sitting on Caseys side of the fence. I'd expect nothing less. I'd love to see Vermeulen trounce Stoner this year and watch you all switch allegiance.
Nice work folks!

To 990.....Trust you to come out with something that is completly irrelevant to the topic. I am sure all the other Aussies will have there say if they can be bothered with such dribble.....but I support every Aussie who competes in any sport so there is no reason to switch allegiance. ;)

I just want to say good luck to Westy for this year.
He was signed because he could ride the bike straight away
and gave great technical feedback to the team from the first test.
I suspect half the issues at the moment are dealing with the showbiz aspect of the sport rather than anything else...

Unfortunately the way I read this is West is on notice to improve his performance or else. Any team that under performs relative to sponsor or factory investment *** will come under scrutiny. Any team rider who consistently falls short of another team rider's performance will also come under scrutiny. What is surprising here is the lack of a quality test rider for many teams who can shoulder the load of a test program rather than using the race rider as a development mule. Race riders are not necessarily good development riders. With riders such as Pedrosa and Hopkins injured this can place a counter productive workload on the other team rider and put the team way behind with development.
