Why do the factories spend millions of dollars on R&D when they could employ Ace, the man with the solution to every technical problem. The other day he was telling Suzuki how to improve the handling of Vermuelens bike and now he's pointing Kawasaki in the right direction. Hey what do these Japanese engineers know - they've only been building race bikes 50 years so they haven't yet built up the same level of technical expertise and experience as Ace. Time to step into the motogp paddock Ace and claim your rightfull position as the new technical guru...Jerry Burgess watch out!! ;)

OK, without trying to convince anyone one way or another over other riders and there perceptions, Let me say this:
Westy in the wet is universaly consdered a very fast rider, His record reflects this.
Westy on what was universaly considered the 2nd best WSS bike in the field was so fast he was untouchable.
So givin the above to be accurate (and we know it is) Westy needs equal/level gear and conditions to be at the front.
So why isnt he at the front in dry races now, whats changed that he isnt at the front.
Could it be the bike is hard to ride compared to the rest, does a strong engine make the bike? can a bad chassis cause a crash? If Westy rode a honda would he average a higher finish

Can it be that he is not fit enough to ride it?
He spent his summer 'break' working out admitting he was behind.
He spent his Christmas break working out.
Agreed, he had his wrist operated on, how long will that excuse hold?
Kawasaki will drop him if he can't be up with Hopkins on a regular basis.

west is a good rider... but he is not a great rider!!!
for riders like him to shine he need to go back to SS.
i don't think he can shine on any machine in motogp.
sorry

Yes all very good questions.... bottom line is simply Westy V Hoppa, seeing as that the Kwaka is still unproven before anyone can make a call lay blaming a slow Ant ;)

you have to to agree that west had his chance in 250 gp's.
he had some good results but was never consistent in front.
i think that at certain situations on certain tracks he can go well but as for fighting for the podium in every race????? i don't think so.
he is good but not great.

West has not had a chance in 250's ever, theres a long sorted back story there check it out?
If ever he sorts it out (the zxrr), he will do way better, all he needs is a decent bike as his results prove.
Westy has never been in a position to develop a bike so he might take longer to feel his way through, dont confuse this with his riding talent,

i really wish him all the best this year but i don't think he'll finish in the top five more then 5 times next year... i really hope he pass his team mate that i think did the mistake of his life leaving Suzuki just when he started to get good results.

The other thing to consider is how well his input is regarded or sought by Kawasaki.... You would imagine Hoppa would be the one they are expecting bigger things from sooner also due to his experience so focus my by more directed to Hoppas setting preferences over Ants... lots of company politics to consider! Ant has to get a few podiums and a win or two maybe even before his input would held in high regard I reckon. Still really early days anyway ;)
