Why do the factories spend millions of dollars on R&D when they could employ Ace, the man with the solution to every technical problem. The other day he was telling Suzuki how to improve the handling of Vermuelens bike and now he's pointing Kawasaki in the right direction. Hey what do these Japanese engineers know - they've only been building race bikes 50 years so they haven't yet built up the same level of technical expertise and experience as Ace. Time to step into the motogp paddock Ace and claim your rightfull position as the new technical guru...Jerry Burgess watch out!! ;)

MOTOGP » 'Wake up call' for West

Anthony West has vowed to do whatever it takes to improve his fitness following what Kawasaki competition manager Michael Bartholemy describes as a 'wake up call' during the opening tests of 2008.

But again, my point is that Kawasaki should have known from the start what they seem to discover (and to complain about): Westy is (i) not a consistent and hardworking testrider, and (ii) not fit enough to ride 100+ laps a day like Nicky Hayden or Randy de Puniet (especially after his wrist surgery but not only due to that), and (iii) peaking as regards riding abilities and speed, due to his talent, which is enough to win in WSS, but only enough for top-5 to 12 placings in MotoGP, which is not too bad for a second rider.

Westy was already all that last year, and they signed him, so they would better shutup and get to work.

For sure, some ppl in Japan may be worried tho...

Worried because Hopper is only pushing hard (very hard! that guy is damn fast!) and complain about chattering, but he will not give a single clue to his engineers, and Westy is even worse. A Hopkins - Randy de Puniet team would have been fantastic, but the Kawasaki management was obviously impressed by Westy's steady pointscoring, in spite of his lack of speed...

They have now to rely on their test riders, but I've never read nowhere that OJ was of any help for the team last year (hence his dismissal) and I doubt Serizawa has the pace to even provide any useful output...

Saltbush, I think the Kawasaki is pretty good, it may need a better rider.
I don't think Wayne Gardner should do it but Ace27 may be an option :p

The Morgue; The Kawasaki has thrown some rather good riders down the road in the last 12 months,it cashed OJ into retirement,I believe that de Puniet is a good rider I do like his sit on a bike,I know some of the get offs were Randys fault BUT,it did dump Hopper bloody hard at PI I know it was damp but on turn one,so there could be some fault in the chassis flexing????and perhaps West is rather apprehensive on it after seeing the dumps and I believe Westy is a gutsy rider not quite sure if up top class MotoGp rider but there is something going on that does not seem right at Kawa whether it is bike or rider I am not real sure, given a choice I would 66% bike.Ace27 has tamed his own Kawa hhmmmm

JH;there you are, if you failed the French Fries test no wonder you live in a cardboard box and lick gravel, though have to addmit that the gravel probably tastes better than the fries, stick with the gravel licking you may get an offer from Kawasaki as most of their riders are still in the experimental stage of gravel licking but learning fast perhaps they just need a good teacher;) ;) ;)
