What do you think the Rossi haters are going to say when they see that time set. Think they'll say Stoner would be faster and have his TC turn off too' I was abit concern about Rossi on these QU tyres but looks like he sorted that one out A

We used to have Jawas around here as a cheap but reliable alternative to other bikes, you saw the being used as 'second' bike for winterperiod (350 twin twostrokes). Simple but reliable machines with some clever design features on it, packed in a dull eastern European (Czechoslovakia) outfit. Our local iceracer Roelof Thijs used the fourstroke Jawas (I believe they ran on a methanol mixure), probably the same engine you used. They were built in a separate factory in Czechoslovakia:

The Morgue, when the first Esso/Jawa arrived in Australia and went so well, most thought it was the rider,as the Jawa was from the same country that sent us the Skoda car that rusted in the Showroom and fell to pieces when you drove the out.The Skoda has just been re released here I am not sure how many people can remember the 1959 Octavia and Felicia if they do they won't sell one.Yep the Jawa Ice racer was the same motor probably same diamond used methanol or Shell A Racing fuel, and vegetable oil Castrol R is carried in frame and is total loss, once the Esso proved itself here you could get a JAP for a song and I sing off key.JH I am harmless and back, back means the same as not gone, litened

The skodas now are re-bodied VolksWagons. Excellent cars but they still have an image problem in the UK also.

I see what you mean Saltbush, you mean Eso/Jawa, I was confused with the Esso oilcompany.
Eso was a separate Chech company that started in '49 and built at first JAP and Joli copies as engines for speedway,
later their own 248, 348 and 498cc speedway and MX engines (translating from Wikipedia now).
It was taken over by Jawa in 1964 then went separate again in 1991.
From 1992 they started rebuilding classic racers from old Eso bikes and parts

The Morgue yep thats right it was eSo on the first Jawa's it was little e large S little o ,,sorry for the confusion with Esso, but the first night it arrived in the pits I thought it was sponsored by Esso but spelt wrong, after its first race all the riders just flocked to it as none of us believed anything could be better than a JAP.
We also had the Jawa 125cc and 250cc 2 strokes here that were good comuter bikes and some of the 125cc motor were used in the early Go Karts and went quite well once you got rid of the magneto fly wheel as it used to break off the end of the crank shaft when the Kart was slide sideways the flywheel wanted to continue in the straight direction GYRO EFFECT???? :)
