Nicky Hayden:

"This engine spec is the spec Dani chose to go with for the valve-spring. It's smooth and easy to ride, but its overall performance isn't real high."

-----------

So Pedrosa chose the engine - yet now he can't test it due to injury - leaving Hayden to develop a bike with an engine not suited to him.

How about they let Nicky Hayden use the engine HE WANTS.

MOTOGP » Honda's engine dilemma continues…

"Before I would have said 'yeah sure, we'll race the pneumatic-valve', but now maybe we're going to be on valve-springs" - Nicky Hayden.

It does say discuss, and as for 'pedrobot' why not..? he's a great rider (3 world championships dont come easy) but he has the the abilty of a goldfish when it comes to dealing with media etc. as for a clown...hmm lets think, 7 world titles, he's won each class that he rode in, italian 125cc clubmans champion at 14,and racing GP at 15/16 years old; whilst I dont say that Rossi walks on water, you have to give the man his due. what were you doing at 14? (marty)

TC will always make GP bikes easier to deal with, when you can crack the throttle mid corner and instead of a massive highside, the bike sorts itself out, it turns into a championship won by the computer technicians.

There's a few posters here that consistently use degrading nicknames for the talented MotoGP riders that they themselves will never become. Pityfull and unnessecairy really.

WOW.....this was a pretty darn good thread.

The funny thing is that every thred/topic starts out with great opinions/insight/info. Then, someone ALWAYS has to start the name-calling, which is childish enough in itself. The 'even worse' part is when the 2nd party buys into it!!
Great, now we're stuck reading through a ****load of babbling drivel....only to ultimately discover that the true TOPIC at hand was lost looong ago....it gets tiring, guys-n-gals.

Any chance, HRC is blowing smoke in everybodies eyes, and just waiting to the very last moment to release there new "killer " engine?
It's hard to belief they still having those problems. They got smoked last year (by MotoGP standards)and you would think they retaliate in force for 08. HRC has a huge reputation to loose, and as some guys here mentioned earlier, honor is big in Japan.
There chasis seems to be a big improvement (according to Hayden)
What you guys think??

I think there is a fair chance of Dani Pedrosa being a flyer on the Honda again in 2008
but maybe in the same fashion as in 2007, struggle at first, then improve during the season,
some race wins but too late for a title challenge?

HRC nor Hayden are blowing smoke. NH has always spoken his mind and the truth, what he says you can bank on.

Like what Morgue said. I see Repsol starting the season with Dani's springer and NH possibly using and struggling with the air-valver to get it going. Then by mid-season, as the air-valver gets going, both riders using it and challenging for wins late in the season when they are mathematically out of the WC. Once again, I see Dani trying to take credit for the pneu-engines increased performance, even though it was NH that worked with it all season.... much like last year.
