2007 was a rookie year for everyone tho, it was a fresh start.

new bikes and no data for any races, apart from the tracks they tested at.

like i've said before, when stoner went to ducati and bridgestone, something clicked and it clicked big time, anyone can see stoner has talent...all i want is to see all the bikes and tyres level on performance so that there is no more petty arguments on who is the best rider.

I think stoner's great..but he's no rossi, as much as people will argue it, he's no rossi...not yet.

Until anyone wins back to back championship on two different bikes, then they could be put into the same catagory as Rossi. Sorry Stoner not yet!

Dont get to carried away, i'd have thought that most of these times would have been done on a clear track.

Rossi hasn't had the best starts in the past, and whilst he is amazing at going through the field, he still loses time to the leaders. The duc's launch control system seemed streets ahead last season. That has to help?

Also, who's to say the Yam is any faster in a straight line? Anyone seen any speed comparisons from the GP to testing? Rossi might just be riding it round the corners faster?!

What's good about it is that Valentino can be fast with a Bridgestone qualifier too, that's important because he needs front row starting positions now more than ever. His race pace being this good halway their testing program is surprising too, although it is bound to differ from track to track.
I hope Honda get their act together in time so we will have a chance of a battle :p

I agree with you 100% Morgue. Those qualifiers will help him to get better starting positions which are waaaaay more important these days seeing how a certain red bike likes to try and get away early. If the qualifiers help the King get better starting positions, I'm sure the mindsets of the people out front with him will be ALOT different at the beginning of race and everyone will know that there's alot more work that has to be done for the following 28 laps to win.

Whatever anybody says, Stoner is a fabulous starter something he has earned out of his dirttrack carreer..So Vale is going to need a good position if he wants to stay in his slipstream..

Nowdays the rider has "launch control" (stupid name). They just nail the throttle and release the clutch. The Ducati has the most potent engine therefore you would imagine it would be pretty quick of the mark (after all drag racers are pretty keen on more power aren't they? I'm not Stoner bashing, just raising a point.
