Dani Pedrosa will drop the #26 and ride with the #2 on the front of his Repsol Honda for the 2008 MotoGP season.
Pedrosa finished second in the 2007 world championship, with two race wins, and - according to a statement from the team - has made the number change as part of a tradition 'which dictates that a rider bears the number that reflects the victories obtained during the previous twelve months'.
