Perhaps the communication problem last year was because of the tyres speaking French, the engine speaking Japanese and the rider speaking Italian. At least with Japanese tyres the engine will understand leaving only Valentino in the dark. At least it is a way forward. As for making the loudest noise, we who speak English find if we speak VERY VERY LOUDLY and SLOWLY to foreigners they understand and take our money. Perhaps if Furusawa San slows the engine to 300 rpm and takes the silencer off Rossi will have more chance.
Or perhaps the whole article lost something in the translation. I'll read it slowly to my TZ250 when I get home and see what it thinks.

"So the connection between throttle and tyre is not good with the screamer - don't explain this to the Kawasaki people!" - Masao Furusawa.

Morgue - I like your analogy "Tearing the sky open when it came past" ;) Chu CHu, yep that Aprilia was a great sounding machine too :)

Ace27, I don't have your technical knowledge so I wouldn't be able to comment on your saying that the early 990's had TC - all I know is that they were going round the long sweeping corners sideways with smoke pouring off the rear tyre which I thought was a great spectacle. I know Rossi wasn't the "King of slide" like Nicky, but it didn't look to me like he had a ton of electonics keeping the thing in check. As an aside, I've had a huge bet on your lad to win it again this year.

If you extrapolate 2007 AND the grid would run screamers with TC-control you might find the Ducati, with Stoner riding it, running his out-lap with the others having one lap to go. (If he would finish it...)

You can see that the Duc is more or less unrideable for the classic rider. Casey made the power mapping and TC an extension of himself and the Ducati controls engineers know by now what gives him confidence.

Yamaha is a very "down to earth" company that work on the finesse of their machines. The good feel makes most riders happy. Brute power spoke 2007 for "one", but may not be the magic solution for 2008, with ingredients of the potion being remixed.

Furusawa-san may be right!

@The Morgue

Thanks for the reply.

The reason why I'm asking is cuz I had read on this website that there are a number of riders like Valentino Rossi that don't like Traction Control whereas Casey Stoner prefers to ride with Traction Control.

Thats wright Joseph TC has been around for a long time but it was limited to what they could do with it ,i think as the bits 'n' bites have become smaller they can strap more gizzoms on the bike basically in the 500cc days you would have to have had a side car straped to y bike to get all the gizzoms in these days you can put it in your pocket
