Perhaps the communication problem last year was because of the tyres speaking French, the engine speaking Japanese and the rider speaking Italian. At least with Japanese tyres the engine will understand leaving only Valentino in the dark. At least it is a way forward. As for making the loudest noise, we who speak English find if we speak VERY VERY LOUDLY and SLOWLY to foreigners they understand and take our money. Perhaps if Furusawa San slows the engine to 300 rpm and takes the silencer off Rossi will have more chance.
Or perhaps the whole article lost something in the translation. I'll read it slowly to my TZ250 when I get home and see what it thinks.

This year will be a crucial one, we will see if the racing returns or if it is gone foregood.
That's progress and innovation for you.

It isn't 'happening', it's constructed.
There have been major rule changes that got us in this situation, it is not like some kind of evolution.
That's why I think this season may have a pivotal role, it can show where it is going in the next years,
snorefest or edge of the seat excitement?

Yes it was constructed.....To make the sport safer and to try and slow the bikes down, but as we can see that didnt happen !!!

For some it is possible it will be a snorefest and for others it will be on the edge of the seat excitment, depending who your rider/s are and what bike they ride.......you cant please everybody all the time. As people say if you dont like what you see then go find something else until it is back to how you want it ;)

Or was it to make the ramp for the rookies lower?
If they wanted to make it slower surely 200cc reduction wasn't enough.
Now the importance of electronics has come to light more than ever.

If making it better for the rookies has helped then we should see this season with closer racing.

With the introduction of 600s predicted at a later date, I dont think that was an issue.....And I for one am glad they didnt.

Yes you are right and from what I have read on Rossis comments his electronics are better now and he is happy......Lets see what happens :)

Sooner or later, Yamaha will follow the path of 'Screamer' engines. They just stalling with those 'Bump-bang' engine design until they realize this is a GP racing. Even the electronics setting has been customized to change drastically the 4-stroker racer can be ridden like the old 2-Stroker racer.

It's all about how riders want the bike to react using the latest prototype technology available to them.

Kawasaki approach in understanding both engine design considered a mature development progress. Yamaha will found then it's too late for them when Rossi leaving them for good.

JL..What I was getting at is they all run TC in various forms plus many other ideas designed to get an advantage on their opponents. All these ideas are rolled into a package where it is becoming harder to remove or limit one area in isolation. The biggest disparity I see is that the weight of the rider is free. Pedrosa has a clear advantage here. His 51KG frame Vs Hayden's 69KG makes it all but impossible for Hayden to compete with without another 20HP but even if Hayden had that extra power he still has the 21 litre fuel limit. Technology will find it's own level but this rider situation will not. Ironically rider weights would be the easiest thing to address to create more parity.

A lighter weight rider may not always equate to a direct advantage, differences in build might lead to less efficient aero, a lighter rider has less weight to use to alter the machines C of G so might struggle more in rapid changes of direction... and we have all seen Dani struggle on the brakes at times.
