I never thought I'd say this about a top Japanese bike racing boss, but I quite like this Furusawa. He comes across quite well, bit of a sense of humour and isn't shy with the technical info. Also, when was the last time a HRC official (for exmaple) said he had respect for a rider's style and wouldn't ask him to change it to suit the bike unless he had to? (As Furusawa said about Lorenzo).

be interesting to see if the other teams have found more or less than the 5 extra horsepower yamaha will have this weekend at Jerez. Guess we'll be able to tell by seeing if the top speed order (factory bikes) is still roughly: 1) Ducati 2) Honda/Kawasaki(?) 3) Suzuki/Yamaha.

MOTOGP » Yamaha: Five more 'ponies'...

"We have added five 'ponies' compared to last year's engine, but we will need another three or four by the first race" - Masao Furusawa.

Weather forecast for Jarez..Windy all days with possible rain on Sunday afternoon. F1s were affected by winds in their Jerez tests a few days ago. This could throw up some wild cards during testing especially in shootout for the Z4. Damp track and windy conditions could favour Stoner.

Although some interesting posts, this thread is ridiculous. To argue about "5 ponies" on a GP bike is absolutely pointless!! Come on now, NO factory will show their hand, or info like that!! Damn, I have no idea how much an 800cc GP bike has, and no one else does except a few that are sworn to secrecy. We are talking about Hundreds upon HUNDREDS of $$MILLIONS of dollars here!! Would you tell? Yamaha/Rossi/Bridgestone, I think, will do Very well this year! --Slideways151--

By the way, I live about two hours from Jerez. The wind has dropped today and it is dry at the moment. Lets hope it stays that way. Might try to get down there for one day if I can get away from work.

Saltbush, unsubstantiated is the claims that CS is using less traction control than others.

Once again, because it appears you are having issues with it, I did not complain about you to anybody. Perhaps your claims have annoyed others? or is that difficult to understand?
